I mean, Doran plays some pretty bad matches in the LCK as well. Yeah, he steps up sometimes, for sure - but he also has some absolute stinkers as well. It's not so much that he's terrible, awful etc, it's that he's super inconsistent and chokes in international tournaments.
T1 has amazing infrastructure and development staff. They didn't just randomly find a bunch of super talented kids that happened to be a worlds winning squad. They developed them. And they have experienced staff that can perform at Worlds. Doran will probably have his career best season in T1.

Im a big T1 fan but honestly this was bound to happen sooner or later with one of the players on the team. No matter where Zeus ends up i will support him and hope that he succeeds in the future. The article leaves out the fact that T1 tried to contact the Agent at 3pm to leave a final offer but the agent in question was not avaible for remote contact and as such T1 rushed to Zeus aparment to give a offer to him in person but they arrived at 3.40pm and by that time they had already agreed to HLEs terms. Many ppl are speculating that this was some sort of sabotage from the Superagent agency that handles most of the LCK/LPL contracts. I got no idea how much of it is true but thats the rumor that is going around atleast and aparently Joe Marsh was super pissed at how it all was handled because T1 didnt get a chance to make a final offer due to the Agent in question beeing unable to be reached via remote contact (Phone, discord, email whatever it may be) at the deadline.
I've been an SKT and T1 fan since Starcraft Broodwar era way back in 2004. I started supporting SKT because of BoXeR and Bisu and I've continued to support T1 and still do. I'm sorry to hear about IWD having a personal bad experience with the T1 org and the fanbase. I can't say I'm proud of everything the T1 fans have done over the years - but since it's such a big community I've always just turned a blind eye on the toxic shit and just focused on the good parts of the community. There are also a lot of people I consider to be 'fake T1 fans', people who aren't really interested in the team/orgs history but just support them because they win Worlds a lot, and then turn against them the moment they start underperforming during the regular season. I remember readin Inven KR this year and whenever T1 were losing supposed T1 fans were demanding Gumayushi to be fired etc and I wasn't onboard with any of that. As someone who's been in the T1 fan camp in Korea I wanted to explain a couple of things mentioned in this video in case people want to know more: 1. the ZOFGK acronym doesn't really work in English. It comes from the Korean abbreviation of using the first character in each of the members names 제오페구케, and it's pronounced like 'Jeh'(like the first syllable of the work Jeopardy) - 'Oh' - 'Peh'(like the first syllable of the word Pebble) - 'Gu' - 'Keh'. So just saying that ZOFGK being a bad acronym is true because it doesn't really work in English. 2. Obviously the fans reaction to Zeus going FA and Doran joining T1 is mixed. The less toxic side of the fanbase are assuming that HLE came with a proposal that Zeus simply couldn't refuse, and T1 after resigning with Oner, Guma and Keria they probably couldn't make an offer for Zeus that was as competitive as HLE. Some fans are basically wishing Zeus the best despite being sorry to see him go, some of the more 'fervant' T1 fans are basically angry at Zeus for breaking up this roster and killing the three-peat dream run for next year. But some fans are happy since considering that Doran is still regarded as the three best toplaners in the LCK along Zeus and Kiin, once Zeus is gone and Kiin is already re-signed with GenG Doran was the only 'good' choice left. 3. There is also controversy over HOW Zeus went FA. Basically over the course of three different instances of negotiations T1 offered Zeus a renewed contract for 3+1 years with a raised salary, but Zeus and his agent wanted more money than what was offered so they told T1 that they would be going FA and seeing how the market would treat them. Then T1 offered a new proposal that included more money but was for a 1 + 1 year contract instead. Zeus and his agent wanted the contract to be a set 2 year contract instead and refused to accept the offer. Then Zeus' agent gave T1 an ultimatum to come up with a better offer by 3pm on the 19th of November or they would accept a different teams offer instead. T1 was informed of this deadline on the morning of the 19th, so as a last resort T1 asked for an extension to the deadline to negotiate further to which the agent did not respond to, and then the COO of T1 himself drove to a different city where Zeus and his agent are located to conduct the last negotiation in person. They arrived at the other city (Incheon) but it was 3:40 pm by then and they were informed by the agent that Zeus had already signed with a different team. A lot of T1 fans are taking issue to how this process was conducted, they believe that Zeus was being disrespectful to T1 (a team that trained him all the way from T1 Academy) by ignoring their request to an extension to the deadline and conducting one final in-person negotiation and not even having the decency to talk to the COO of T1 despite them driving all the way there to see him. Some T1 fans are seeing this act as like the professional version of putting someone on ignore and shutting the door on their faces. This is all information from a third party journalist, and we are expecting both Zeus' agents and T1 to come up with their own statements to clear up their sides of the story. Canna was criticised by T1 fans because his agent claimed that Canna had a verbal agreement from a former T1 COO, who had passed away earlier that year, that he would be offered a new contract from T1 with a significantly larger salary. But Canna had no way of proving that to be true, so it looked like Canna and his agent were using a dead person's name to further their own interests trying to take advantage of the fact that dead men tell no tales and the former COO wouldn't be able to deny it himself, and it appeared as extremly rude and disrespectful to the former T1 COO who had passed away. My personal take is that I've always been a fan of the org before any single player. Doran is an amazing top laner, and during the regular season Doran owned Zeus so as long as the roster and supporting staff can pull it together I'm sure this T1 team will be an exciting team to watch and follow. It's a shame to see this miracle roster break apart after 3 years, but in the world of esports this roster is definitely the exception and not the rule. We should be happy that we got to enjoy ZOFGK for 3 whole years, rather than being upset that we can't enjoy it for another year. I'll continue supporting T1 into the far future, and I'm sure there'll be another roster in the future that will make people forget about ZOFGK and become the new favourite roster.
T1 vs KT was so hype back in the day of Boxer-Yellow-oov-Reach era. Was a T1 fan for a long time since they transitioned to League from SC but can't stand the org and the fans now.

i think it would be a good idea to highlight BO5 record in a year for a team. IMO JDG 2023 is the best roster because they won 14 BO5s in a row which has never been done in a single year. most of that is due to legacy formats, but it's something to consider.

To discuss the salary point and Faker's contract specifically. It makes sense you pay him the most since you're not just buying the player but the brand as well. Rumor is that HLE offered Zeus $2.7M. I'm 100% sure that his leaving is a mutual decision. T1 doesn't want to pay that much, and Zeus wants to get his bag while he can (probably on the advice of his teammates and friends). T1 will be fine with Doran. He's a roleplayer that's comfortable sacrificing his lane gracefully and playing a tank. They won't be as good, probably, but they'll still go to Worlds. HLE has a legit superteam now - anything less than a Worlds win will be looked at as a failure. I think T1 missed a serious opportunity to buy Chovy and put him in top lane. I know the budget for that doesn't exist, but god that would be the MOST powerful form of T1.

It's not even abnormal to see LCK teams not developing players because, when they do a lot of the time, they end up like DRX with rookie players that never get anywhere. Peanut career, surrounded by 7 LCK titles on 5 different orgs. You know nothing about what it means to adapt, play and win on 5 different teams. T1 struggled all year is a bit of a reach. They went 15-3 in Spring and reached the LCK Final. They finished 3rd at MSI. Up untill they took half the summer split off (by the way, they struggle a bit every summer...), there were only 2 teams in the World, they could not beat: GenG and BLG. And they took both teams to a Game 5 in LCK summer and MSI Semis. And yes, the major issue with this T1 roster is, that they could not beat Chovys GenG. But they still finished 2nd for like 5 straight LCK splits, reached 3 World Finals and won 2. They haven't finished lower than Top 3 in any tournament they competed in. Them constantly reaching the LCK Finals just to lose is some Jerry West Lakers shit. Or Buffalo Bills in the early 90s shit. The Lakers back then were still elite, they just couldn't beat the Celtics. And yes, I know, that T1 Stans lean too hard in the "THIS TEAM WAS ALWAYS THE BEST!" direction. But critics also ignore, how constantly good they were. I mean Chovy has a 5-8 Finish at Worlds in the same timespan, where T1 finished Top 3 as their worst result.

Finishing 2nd and 3rd internationally and domestically doesn't matter in the greatest roster of all time discussion. Got it. Winning Worlds in 2023 by going 11-1 against the LPL, and winning Worlds in 2024 by beating the definitive 2 best teams in the calendar year, but somehow not deserving to win according to Dom. Got it. Here are some facts instead of the biased and salty narratives from Dom and LFN, which I still enjoy as a channel: T1 was 13-5 (14 if you include EWC) in international best of 5's from 2022 - 2024, including making every international tournament and never finishing below 3rd, something no other org can claim. For perspective, Gen G isn't even 2nd in that time frame for international best of 5 wins; they only have 8; BLG is 2nd with 9. Gen G also lost both international 5's to T1 They had the only undefeated split in the history of the LCK (granted they were aided by COVID substitutions.) Had the first support to ever win MVP in the LCK in Keria in Spring 2022, who repeated in 2023. Defeated the "greatest team of all time" at 2023 Worlds and took them to the absolute wire at MSI 2023. They had their struggles against Gen G from 2022 - 2024, but they were only 5-7 in best of 3's and 4-5 in best of 5's against Gen G in that time frame, far from the absolute dominance that everyone believes actually happened. They might not have been the best team for a majority of their time together, but the 2022 - 2024 T1 was the best team on the whole in that time frame. International best of 5's should be weighted way more than regional play, and no one had the consistent results both regionally and domestically this team had. Finishing 2nd at Worlds or 3rd at MSI or 2nd in the LCK are not blemishes on a resume; zero idea why this video acts like they are. Just making it to MSI and Worlds are achievements, something this team never failed to do. I hope people can celebrate this line up for what they were, a box office team, you'll never forget.
Yeah dude still lost 10 in a row against Geng G, still was one game away from being eliminated from even attending world's, still had one of the worst splits in Faker career that the man known to be a shining example of professionalism and composure was bagging his fucking HEAD against a WALL as hard as he could. No winning a Bo3 tournament in Saudi Arabia, winning world's who has the worst tournament format doesn't make up for the entire year, the same for Geng G who dominated the whole year losing one BO5 doesn't make then worse than T1 if we had a loser bracket and they faced each other people still choose Geng G to win.

Think positive. Instead of thinking how Doran would pull T1 down, imagine Doran gaining the aura/confidence/magic/clutch power of T1. From what I heard, his performance was top notch on all other tourneys aside from worlds right? This would be another thing to watch out for next year and as viewers/fans, this would make things more interesting and fun.

Im a big T1 fan but honestly this was bound to happen sooner or later with one of the players on the team.
No matter where Zeus ends up i will support him and hope that he succeeds in the future.
The article leaves out the fact that T1 tried to contact the Agent at 3pm to leave a final offer but the agent in question was not avaible for remote contact and as such T1 rushed to Zeus aparment to give a offer to him in person but they arrived at 3.40pm and by that time they had already agreed to HLEs terms.
Many ppl are speculating that this was some sort of sabotage from the Superagent agency that handles most of the LCK/LPL contracts.
I got no idea how much of it is true but thats the rumor that is going around atleast and aparently Joe Marsh was super pissed at how it all was handled because T1 didnt get a chance to make a final offer due to the Agent in question beeing unable to be reached via remote contact (Phone, discord, email whatever it may be) at the deadline.

I've been an SKT and T1 fan since Starcraft Broodwar era way back in 2004. I started supporting SKT because of BoXeR and Bisu and I've continued to support T1 and still do. I'm sorry to hear about IWD having a personal bad experience with the T1 org and the fanbase. I can't say I'm proud of everything the T1 fans have done over the years - but since it's such a big community I've always just turned a blind eye on the toxic shit and just focused on the good parts of the community. There are also a lot of people I consider to be 'fake T1 fans', people who aren't really interested in the team/orgs history but just support them because they win Worlds a lot, and then turn against them the moment they start underperforming during the regular season. I remember readin Inven KR this year and whenever T1 were losing supposed T1 fans were demanding Gumayushi to be fired etc and I wasn't onboard with any of that. As someone who's been in the T1 fan camp in Korea I wanted to explain a couple of things mentioned in this video in case people want to know more:
1. the ZOFGK acronym doesn't really work in English. It comes from the Korean abbreviation of using the first character in each of the members names 제오페구케, and it's pronounced like 'Jeh'(like the first syllable of the work Jeopardy) - 'Oh' - 'Peh'(like the first syllable of the word Pebble) - 'Gu' - 'Keh'. So just saying that ZOFGK being a bad acronym is true because it doesn't really work in English.
2. Obviously the fans reaction to Zeus going FA and Doran joining T1 is mixed. The less toxic side of the fanbase are assuming that HLE came with a proposal that Zeus simply couldn't refuse, and T1 after resigning with Oner, Guma and Keria they probably couldn't make an offer for Zeus that was as competitive as HLE. Some fans are basically wishing Zeus the best despite being sorry to see him go, some of the more 'fervant' T1 fans are basically angry at Zeus for breaking up this roster and killing the three-peat dream run for next year. But some fans are happy since considering that Doran is still regarded as the three best toplaners in the LCK along Zeus and Kiin, once Zeus is gone and Kiin is already re-signed with GenG Doran was the only 'good' choice left.
3. There is also controversy over HOW Zeus went FA. Basically over the course of three different instances of negotiations T1 offered Zeus a renewed contract for 3+1 years with a raised salary, but Zeus and his agent wanted more money than what was offered so they told T1 that they would be going FA and seeing how the market would treat them. Then T1 offered a new proposal that included more money but was for a 1 + 1 year contract instead. Zeus and his agent wanted the contract to be a set 2 year contract instead and refused to accept the offer. Then Zeus' agent gave T1 an ultimatum to come up with a better offer by 3pm on the 19th of November or they would accept a different teams offer instead. T1 was informed of this deadline on the morning of the 19th, so as a last resort T1 asked for an extension to the deadline to negotiate further to which the agent did not respond to, and then the COO of T1 himself drove to a different city where Zeus and his agent are located to conduct the last negotiation in person. They arrived at the other city (Incheon) but it was 3:40 pm by then and they were informed by the agent that Zeus had already signed with a different team. A lot of T1 fans are taking issue to how this process was conducted, they believe that Zeus was being disrespectful to T1 (a team that trained him all the way from T1 Academy) by ignoring their request to an extension to the deadline and conducting one final in-person negotiation and not even having the decency to talk to the COO of T1 despite them driving all the way there to see him. Some T1 fans are seeing this act as like the professional version of putting someone on ignore and shutting the door on their faces. This is all information from a third party journalist, and we are expecting both Zeus' agents and T1 to come up with their own statements to clear up their sides of the story. 4. Contract troubles with Canna was mentioned as well but that context is entirely different. Canna was criticised by T1 fans because his agent claimed that Canna had a verbal agreement from a former T1 COO, who had passed away earlier that year, that he would be offered a new contract from T1 with a significantly larger salary. But Canna had no way of proving that to be true, so it looked like Canna and his agent were using a dead person's name to further their own interests trying to take advantage of the fact that dead men tell no tales and the former COO wouldn't be able to deny it himself, and it appeared as extremly rude and disrespectful to the former T1 COO who had passed away.
My personal take is that I've always been a fan of the org before any single player. Doran is an amazing top laner, and during the regular season Doran owned Zeus so as long as the roster and supporting staff can pull it together I'm sure this T1 team will be an exciting team to watch and follow. It's a shame to see this miracle roster break apart after 3 years, but in the world of esports this roster is definitely the exception and not the rule. We should be happy that we got to enjoy ZOFGK for 3 whole years, rather than being upset that we can't enjoy it for another year. I'll continue supporting T1 into the far future, and I'm sure there'll be another roster in the future that will make people forget about ZOFGK and become the new favourite roster.

i think it would be a good idea to highlight BO5 record in a year for a team. IMO JDG 2023 is the best roster because they won 14 BO5s in a row which has never been done in a single year. most of that is due to legacy formats, but it's something to consider.

Rumor is that HLE offered Zeus $2.7M. I'm 100% sure that his leaving is a mutual decision. T1 doesn't want to pay that much, and Zeus wants to get his bag while he can (probably on the advice of his teammates and friends). T1 will be fine with Doran. He's a roleplayer that's comfortable sacrificing his lane gracefully and playing a tank. They won't be as good, probably, but they'll still go to Worlds. HLE has a legit superteam now - anything less than a Worlds win will be looked at as a failure.
I think T1 missed a serious opportunity to buy Chovy and put him in top lane. I know the budget for that doesn't exist, but god that would be the MOST powerful form of T1.

T1 struggled all year is a bit of a reach. They went 15-3 in Spring and reached the LCK Final. They finished 3rd at MSI.
Up untill they took half the summer split off (by the way, they struggle a bit every summer...), there were only 2 teams in the World, they could not beat: GenG and BLG. And they took both teams to a Game 5 in LCK summer and MSI Semis.
And yes, the major issue with this T1 roster is, that they could not beat Chovys GenG. But they still finished 2nd for like 5 straight LCK splits, reached 3 World Finals and won 2. They haven't finished lower than Top 3 in any tournament they competed in. Them constantly reaching the LCK Finals just to lose is some Jerry West Lakers shit. Or Buffalo Bills in the early 90s shit. The Lakers back then were still elite, they just couldn't beat the Celtics.
And yes, I know, that T1 Stans lean too hard in the "THIS TEAM WAS ALWAYS THE BEST!" direction. But critics also ignore, how constantly good they were. I mean Chovy has a 5-8 Finish at Worlds in the same timespan, where T1 finished Top 3 as their worst result.

T1 was 13-5 (14 if you include EWC) in international best of 5's from 2022 - 2024, including making every international tournament and never finishing below 3rd, something no other org can claim. For perspective, Gen G isn't even 2nd in that time frame for international best of 5 wins; they only have 8; BLG is 2nd with 9. Gen G also lost both international 5's to T1
They had the only undefeated split in the history of the LCK (granted they were aided by COVID substitutions.)
Had the first support to ever win MVP in the LCK in Keria in Spring 2022, who repeated in 2023.
Defeated the "greatest team of all time" at 2023 Worlds and took them to the absolute wire at MSI 2023.
They had their struggles against Gen G from 2022 - 2024, but they were only 5-7 in best of 3's and 4-5 in best of 5's against Gen G in that time frame, far from the absolute dominance that everyone believes actually happened.
They might not have been the best team for a majority of their time together, but the 2022 - 2024 T1 was the best team on the whole in that time frame. International best of 5's should be weighted way more than regional play, and no one had the consistent results both regionally and domestically this team had. Finishing 2nd at Worlds or 3rd at MSI or 2nd in the LCK are not blemishes on a resume; zero idea why this video acts like they are. Just making it to MSI and Worlds are achievements, something this team never failed to do. I hope people can celebrate this line up for what they were, a box office team, you'll never forget.
