Debunked: Global warming affects El Ninos?

Hey everyone. Steve Milloy here. Climate hoaxers are getting nervous. A new study published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reports computer modelling shows that El Ninos date back at least 250 million years and that, over that time period, El Ninos were not related to surface temperatures. Now past the garbage notion of computer modelling of the past 250 million years - something that cannot possibly be validated or verified -- the particular sentence that set me off is this, quote: “How the El Nino cycle may change under global warming has been hotly debated,” end quote.
Hold the phone. How global warming may change El Ninos? Global warming isn’t going to change El Ninos because El Ninos are the global warming. Here’s what I mean. Following the mid-20th century cooling period that lasted from about 1940 to the late 1970s, we’ve began a step-wise warming in the 1980s. This warming is what we call global warming. Each step occurred because of an El Nino. El Ninos warm the Pacific Ocean and that warming adds water vapor to the atmosphere and water vapor is the dominant greenhouse gas.
The notion that the atmosphere or warming affects El Ninos is ludicrous. El Ninos are caused by geothermal heating of the ocean. That geothermal warming has nothing to do with the atmosphere. It has everything to do with what’s going on in the Earth’s core. I have a video on geothermal warming that is linked to in this post.
Everyone knows that El Ninos have been causing what is called global warming. That became especially evident over the past year, during the warming spike that clearly had nothing to do with emissions. But I guess just so that climate hoaxers don’t get discouraged and defect from the hoax, this study was put out to falsely reassure them that emissions-driven global warming is happening irrespective of El Ninos. Nothing could be further from the truth. So just to be clear: El Niños are the global warming. Climate hoaxers are the liars.
