Hey, nice of you to share and backtest Larry Connors mean reversion strategies, the challenge with these systems is if your universe of stocks is Russell 1000, and you can sometimes get more signals than you have enough capital for to trade, and if the market is correcting hard, you have a lot of stocks that are highly correlated and can have large drawdowns. Also, when the market is ripping higher, and not mean reverting, you are usually sitting on your hands and have few to no positions taking advantage of the trend. I'm not saying you can't make money at it, just that it's more of an emotional roller coaster than many people think.

@@SaddamRIAR its because on a demo account there is no fear. You dont play with your own money so the fear of losing it isnt there. Emotions are a big factor

Because this strategy aims to capitalize off the bounce up- like a stretched rubber band- off that previous day closing below the lower bollinger band

Rayner, thanks for this nice short strategy! Did you also backtest this strategy in times of bear markets? If so, are the rules reverse, but "identical" (Russell 1000, below SMA200, above the upper BB (2.5), Entry 3% above the close etc...)? Or did you change something? (I think e.g. that the exit criteria with the RSI and the 10days might be different, because down movements are faster...)

Video is educative, my question is when you hold stock for 10 days, it means you trade same stock for 10 days with time stop loss without exiting the market until it reaches RSI of more than 50
time stop of 10 days, or when rsi crosses above 50, whichever comes first.
I like everything about this except the stoploss rule. What if there is a market crush? One big news within 10 days mentioned ( like ruassia war, or terror attack, bad inflation rate) neither the RSI nor the 10 day rule saves the account. So in my view there should be another reliable stoploss rule.
How about using ATR? Will that work?
@@09198384558 I don't know if the risk reward ratio after setting that kind of stop loss, is in ur favour.
But it seem interesting. Like combining his RSI rule, with 1.5 ATR stop loss if rsi rule fail to stop you atr do.

Just start trading bro. I too am from India and I was also stuck like this. Don't just be all theory and no practical. Start identifying demand and supply zones , support areas , use few indicators such as RSI ,ATR. Learn about different indicators and try to apply them as well. Don't depend on price action and focus mainly on PRICE ACTION. Don't go for paper trades and start taking very small positions in real trades. Even if you go wrong your losses will be minimal but you'll gain experience significantly. Learn volume spread analysis too as it'll improve your trading exponentially. Overall, JUST START TRADING BRO. Don't just sit and watch YT videos all day long.

I don't think this condition happens often enough to trade. Eg using tradingview scanner just now, last price above 200ma & below bollinger band lower band got 1 stock OBT....

Thank you for great videos. May I ask if the converse is true. When the candles are below the 200day MA and the candle closes above the upper 2.5 SD Bollinger band. Does this signal the downward break?
generally yes, assest is overbought , if candles are below MA confirms a sellers market, but we all now the market can be unpredictable lol

Why is this guy always at the top of every videos about day trading crypto, i barely watch his
I backtested this strategy against 200 ETFs with an average of 10 years worth of data. I found an average return of 9.7%.
Wouldn't we get the same ballpark figure if we average (instead of adding) Rayner's yearly return percentages (his excel sheet at the end of the video) starting from 2010?
If someone is talking about these kind of gains beware...
he just regurgitates classic trading methods. I doubt he can apply them all and/or has his own successful system... if he did he wouldnt be making RUclips videos.
Regarding the spreadsheet, did you use any program to help you export the backtest result?
I use amibroker then simply "copy paste" to excel.

What was the equity that you used for your backtesting? (Russell Index) On the limit buy order of the %97 of previous closing price, do you let that order open indefinitely, or just for the next trading session ? Thanks.. My TV script has shown this great success just not a lot of net profit.
Post market was super easy to analysis....but present is 50:50 no matter what analysis u use...believe me.better find other things to do..exercise maybe and work properly. Trading market is not created to give u all money easily like this

My doubt is, back tested on which stocks? How to find stocks which will close below Bollinger band? Do I have to look at all the stocks from market everyday to find a trade?
Russell 1000 stocks. I recommend you use software to do it. Manual takes too much time and prone to error.
