    Thanks Jamie I watched your vid when you first released it ,I ordered a Donaldson straight away (due in mid December)I have been waiting for a product of this quality for years. I was contemplating fabricating a stainless filter housing but no point if the factory element passes an unexceptable amount of dust no amount passed is acceptable in my view. Your persistence along with a few others I feel has paid off. Cheers Ian.

    Looks like another excellent product from Donaldson,( to be expected I guess). Thank you for the video and the heads up, I will be getting one of these.

    Hello from the USA, You do a great job in producing very informative and instructional videos. l hope this product will make to the USA for the 5.7 gas version of the 200 Series. Thanks for the great video!😊

      @austimages  Год назад

      Thanks. I can't confirm whether it will fit the 5.7 or not. It's listed as being for the diesel, but that's mainly what's sold here. If the MAF sensor fits, then I imagine it would be OK, but best to contact Donaldson Australia to ask.

      I've seen prices between $1100 and $1350 quoted. Keep an eye out as they start to appear at stores for the price they quote. This link will search eBay for them, but nothing listed yet, at the time of writing. bit.ly/xlc200k

      Once they start shipping out, they will be available from Donaldson dealers Australia-wide. They should also be available on eBay at this link: bit.ly/xlc200k Might not be till December before they are listed, but keep looking.

    I’ve fitted the filter, should I hear a slight sucking noise in the engine bay? I’ve ensured the hoses are correctly fitted and tightened.

    Finally a solution for the problematic air filter. Do yo you believe this will negate the use of a snorkel prefilter in very dusty conditions?
    Excellent video

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад +1

      I don't plan to run a pre cleaner any more, unless there is some rare occasion where I'm at the back of a convoy for an extended period. The PowerCore has such a huge dust capacity that I don't think there's any point.

      @@austimages I dont currently have a snokel on my 200 - With the donaldson filter, is there any need for a snorkel (aside from water crossings)?

      @@sashalamont9634 A snorkel is nice because it gives you cooler cleaner air, but no you don't NEED one except for water crossings.

    Hey there Jamie. I notices that you said there is a noticeable change in the induction noise. Are we talking a louder volume or different pitch? I'm guessing with the greater air flow it's louder? Personally no issues I love the sound of induction.

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад +1

      Different pitch mainly. Perhaps slightly louder, but not sure on that one. Sounds pretty good!

    What is the wading plug for? and where do you get them from to carry a spare? Great video too. I bought one after watching you video. thanks.

    • @austimages
      @austimages  10 месяцев назад

      It allows any water that does get in to the system to drain back out. Almost like a one-way valve. You should be able to get a spare from Donaldson, but it would be an unlikely situation where either not having a plug at all, or conversely permanently sealing the hole, would present an issue.

    INFORMATIVE VIDEO THANK YOU ...HAVE YOU ANY CONCERNS ABOUT THE PLASTIC BOX DISTORTING SIMILAR WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO THE STANDARD 200 SERIES THANKS AGAIN TOM

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад +2

      No. The PowerCore airbox is well reinforced, and made of a much more rigid plastic than the OEM airbox. Plus, because the filter flows so much air, there's no heavy suction within the box to cause any distortion.

    Is amazing and will get one... hopefully the price comes down for the replacement Filter with sales.
    I hope it lasts more the 50k kms.
    At 240 it will need to last 4 times longer to be in same ball park as the oem or aftermarket filters.
    The unit it self is a good price considering the aftermarket ones that just use a standard filter.

    Now that you have had the PowerCore for several months, have you noticed any difference in fuel economy?

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад

      I've sold the car now, and never had the chance to do back to back economy testing. Others have reported a slight improvement in economy, and I did see some really good figures on the freeway running the Powercore. But prior to that, I rarely drove long freeway distances without a trailer, so didn't really have any point of comparison.

    Why don’t you use a Donaldson pre cleaner on the snorkel?

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад +5

      I have used one with the factory filter. But I don't plan to with the PowerCore. The PowerCore is so good, and with such a high dust capacity, that I'm happy to go without the precleaner and the added restriction that goes wit it.

    • @ausguy4385
      @ausguy4385 Год назад

      @Australian Images the added restriction is minimal and less then the gain in flow then oem box...
      So would both be better?
      Forward facing snorkel mean bees bugs and all sort going in... the filter design is great but start blocking the tubes it will get restricted.
      Testing is for dust not real life.

    • @austimages
      @austimages  Год назад

      @@ausguy4385 There's nothing stopping you running a prefilter. But they are more restrictive than the factory airbox (let alone the PowerCore) if operating at high RPM/throttle. Would be fine on the tracks, but on the highway you'd be adding restriction.

    • @ausguy4385
      @ausguy4385 Год назад +1

      @Australian Images interesting the test data of the high flow cyclone pre filter by Donaldson does not have high restrictions you speak of.... only the cheaper low flow 3"
      I'm talking the high flow 4"
