Well I love the ZR1 too, prefer the Z06, but imo the ZR1 looks and sounds amazing and has great performance. I don't hate on cars, I appreciate them all, including these two beautiful cars in the video.

The Nissan's reaction time was much better, that's why it crossed the finish line first, but the Porche did get to the Mile mark in a quicker time. You can win a drag race against a faster car with better tire hook up and quicker reaction times resulting in quicker launches. The info screen at the end of the race says it all, look at the reaction times and the ¼ and 1 mile times, it even adds the two together for you...press pause and read it!
I don't see the usual moaning and whining from GTR fan boys so GTR must have won. How interesting...... those teenagers only react when GTR gets beaten by other cars. Spending 5 or 6 hours of reading specs and watching videos won't get you GTR unless you have rich parents.
Actually the GT-R lost to all but the stock turbo which was putting out 120hp less than the modified GT-R, and even that was fairly close... The GT-R is just too heavy... Not dissing on either car, I love the GT-R as well as the 911 Turbo.

Iv owned a Nissan GTR and a Porsche 911 turbo in the last year (still have the 911) and the 911 was the faster car. The GTR though was a awesome bit of kit though.. Just seemed a bit big compared to the more agile 911. Also the GTR turning circle was hillarious compared to the 911, the Porsche is a much better every day car.
Check out the nismo n attack costs around 135000 goes round the nurburgring sub 7:10 within 10 second of 918 spyder which has 875bhp and costs nearly ten times more porshe claimed that it was impossible and the car was boosted to 800bhp with race slicks but the engine was at 591 straight line speed isn't what the gtr is designed for it was designed to be better than the 911 turbo and it is quicker and cheaper
Well,the race we are talking about starts around 50 second mark.As you can see,GTR starts way before 911.At the finish line gap is real slim.That means 911 was going faster and had better time at the end. And after race you can see 2 times.Actual run time and time with reaction time added.Which starts when lights goes off. Other than that,of course you are right.

You're 'right' to an extent. The GTR's MSRP 'technically' is $97k~. HOWEVER, Nissan dealerships ALWAYS inflate the prices up. Back when the GTRs were $80k~, they were shooting them up to $100k. I've now seen dealers ask for $110k, and they're getting it (and that was for the 2012 edition). As for ZR1s, they really do tend to stick around the MSRP ballpark. Let's not forget the Z06. Cheaper yet, and still competes with the GTR on the track. Source: Been in the market for a $100k car for ages.

Ok - lets try and clear this up shall we? The is not about who WON the race, its about the QUICKER car over the distance. The Porsche covered the distance in 27.839 seconds and crossed the line at 290.18kp/h. The GTR covered the distance in 29.629 seconds and crossed the line at 278.4kp/h. The Porsche IS QUICKER by both measurements. The reason the GTR 'WON' the race is that it started 2.072 seconds BEFORE the Porsche driver did. Yes it 'WON' the race but it's not a faster car. GTR is a awesome car and punches well above it's weight but it's NOT faster than a 911 Turbo S. There's no shame in that. Just a FACT! Result is right there at 1:28 for all to see!

Let me tell you what they are. The GT-R is like a Casio G-Shock watch : Affordable, high tech, superb technology, but it's lacking the quality of more expensive watch. The Porsche is like a Tissot : it may lacks the features and abilities of the Casio, but it certainly has a quality. Quality may not sound like a big deal for some people, but for certain people, it is part of the car that brings satisfaction. So yeah I think people should start respecting on each other's opinion.

@seigfried launch control on the gtr isnt hard to deply...problem is....the launch control characteristics are setup for a stock GTR. When u modify power outputs, u must conpensate on the other end by re-computing the launch control. I drag race at a local track in Atlanta, Ga and a buddy of mines has this problem.

You are sooo funny. When the GT-R R35 was introduced in 2008, the Porsche 911 was available in 3 body styles, 7 model variants, and 5 variant engines. Since then, the GT-R has gotten more horsepower, different rims, and a new front bumper. The 911 got 3 new variants, another new variant engine, a hybrid racing version, and then started over with a brand new car. with 2 new variants, each with it's own engine, coming this year. So much for the GT-R being more developed and cultivated. 8^D

The reaction time does not matter. The winner is the car with the lowest ET (elapsed time), not the car that crosses the line first.

The GTR's MSRP 'technically' is $97k~. HOWEVER, Nissan dealerships ALWAYS inflate the prices up. Back when the GTRs were $80k~, they were shooting them up to $100k. I've now seen dealers ask for $110k, and they're getting it (and that was for the 2012 edition).
As for ZR1s, they really do tend to stick around the MSRP ballpark.
Let's not forget the Z06. Cheaper yet, and still competes with the GTR on the track.

Ok - lets try and clear this up shall we? The is not about who WON the race, its about the QUICKER car over the distance.
The Porsche covered the distance in 27.839 seconds and crossed the line at 290.18kp/h. The GTR covered the distance in 29.629 seconds and crossed the line at 278.4kp/h. The Porsche IS QUICKER by both measurements. The reason the GTR 'WON' the race is that it started 2.072 seconds BEFORE the Porsche driver did.
Yes it 'WON' the race but it's not a faster car. GTR is a awesome car and punches well above it's weight but it's NOT faster than a 911 Turbo S. There's no shame in that. Just a FACT!

They are both awesome cars and if I had the money I'd be glad to own either. Weight matching? You can probably find many variables that if used as a weighting system would give you whatever theoretical result you wanted. The objective truth is that the Porsche 911 was faster over the distance. End of story. Shall we talk about the fact that the GTR is a tuned version @ 600bhp? How would a stock GTR fair? It's not a pissing contest. Just a race over a distance. There is no real world consequence to the result. The GTR would probably beat a similarly priced Porsche model. That's not what's in question here. This was a race over a distance between two variants of two model cars and one (the Porsche) was faster. What might have happened if you loaded the Porsche with extra ballast to even out the weight is neither here nor there. Would we then ask for a Porsche tuned to 600bhp? What about fitting one car or another with some tech that the winner then had to even it out more. BAck and forth, back and forth....... The porsche 911 Turbo is faster as is. End of story. Life goes on :0)

Let me tell you what they are. The GT-R is like a Casio G-Shock watch : Affordable, high tech, superb technology, but it's lacking the quality of more expensive watch. The Porsche is like a Tissot : it may lacks the features and abilities of the Casio, but it certainly has a quality. Quality may not sound like a big deal for some people, but for certain people, it is part of the car that brings satisfaction. So yeah I think people should start respecting on each other's opinion.

@seigfried launch control on the gtr isnt hard to deply...problem is....the launch control characteristics are setup for a stock GTR. When u modify power outputs, u must conpensate on the other end by re-computing the launch control. I drag race at a local track in Atlanta, Ga and a buddy of mines has this problem.

When the GT-R R35 was introduced in 2008, the Porsche 911 was available in 3 body styles, 7 model variants, and 5 variant engines.
Since then, the GT-R has gotten more horsepower, different rims, and a new front bumper. The 911 got 3 new variants, another new variant engine, a hybrid racing version, and then started over with a brand new car. with 2 new variants, each with it's own engine, coming this year.
So much for the GT-R being more developed and cultivated. 8^D
