    Glad I bought this a few years ago before it was discontinued. The Air Duffle has been my consistent travel companion along the Air Porter Backpack in matching black leather and they look absolutely amazing together.

    Wow as a frequent air traveler I wanted this as soon as I watched the video! Looks like it has loads of capacity and still manages to stay within the dimension restrictions of European low cost airlines! Perfect!

      Hi Kennedy, Two great choices. You really can't go wrong. A few differences that might tip the balance one way or another.... Atlas - 24.5 liters, collapsible shoe compartment ; Air Duffel - 22 liters, office compartment lays flat for TSA, 1/2 moon access zipper. Both terrific bags. In the end, it may just be a matter of whichever style you like best. (I hope this helps a bit.) Link to Atlas: www.sfbags.com/products/atlas-executive-athletic-holdall-briefcase

      WaterField Designs thanks! Went with the Air Duffel. Really like the look of the Atlas more, also its open water bottle pocket. But the lunchbox-style opening of the Air Duffel puts it on top for me. It will let me live out of the bag in an organized way - like having a mini cabinet as a bag with me 24/7. Back slot for pen and glasses also so useful. Little details that make a huge impact to the overall use. Can’t wait to receive this (and a Marqui crossbody) in 2 days!!

    How does this compare to the Athletic Holdall? I notice they are both 22 litres.

    • @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs
      @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs  5 лет назад

      Hi Liz, The Atlas is actually a bit bigger with more capacity. (Thanks for pointing this out. I'll look into fixing that on the website.) The Atlas is a bit taller -- it fits under many airline seats but may not on some smaller seats/planes. The Atlas has a separate shoe department that collapses when not in use so it doesn't take up any extra space. The Atlas has a padded sleeve for both a laptop and a tablet, the Air Duffel for a laptop. Both lie flat for TSA, (though if you have both a laptop and tablet, you'll need to send one through separately with the Atlas). The Air Duffel has a myriad of pockets specifically designed for easy access throughout various stages of your journey. I hope that helps! You really can't go wrong with either.

    are there any zipper compartments underneath the magnetic flap

    • @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs
      @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs  Год назад

      The Air Duffel Front Pocket runs the length of the bag and is protected by a leather flap. It can be used to stow newspapers or the optional Air Caddy. Inside, three open-topped pockets organize more small items.

      Hi Matt, We definitely have some good choices for your gear. Do you have access to email? If so, send this over to our customer service crew so they can ask a few more questions and help you find the perfect bag: heygary[at]sfbags[dot]com. You could start by checking out the Pro Executive Backpack, but there are several other good fits as well. www.sfbags.com/products/pro-executive-laptop-backpack

      @@mattjackson2799 Hi Matt, Without the items here to test out, I can't say definitively, but here's what fits into the laptop compartment: The Padded laptop/tablet compartment fits devices up to 15" x 10"
      (examples: 15" MacBook Pro Touch Bar, Retina). From eyeballing photos of your other gear, it looks to me as if it will all fit. I just can't promise 100%. I can tell you that the Pro is very popular among our customers. I hope this helps!

    Hey will you be updating this bag soon? I’m needing a work/gym/in-flight personal item duffel bag. I like this bag I just wish it had that shoe compartment that the other discontinued duffel had. I would also like to see the volume increase just a little. Please let me know if you are going to be updating this bag or releasing a new product with my needs mentioned as a $400 bag is a lot for me and I want to make the most out of it.

      Hi Rahnee, We may be bringing back some retired bags for limited runs throughout the year, but unfortunately, I don't know which ones or when for sure. (You're thinking of the Atlas Holdall.)

      The new one looks nice. I was a bit drawn to the U-shaped opening to the main compartment of this model. Quicker access on-the-go kind of thing.

    Is this too small as a weekender for a heavy packer or would the atlas be more appropriate?

    • @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs
      @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs  5 лет назад

      Well, I guess it depends on how "heavy" a packer you are. The Atlas has a bit more space. If you really want to pack it in, you may want to check out the large Outback Duffel: www.sfbags.com/products/outback-waxed-canvas-duffel-bag?tab=Specifications

    Air porter vs air duffel?

    • @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs
      @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs  5 лет назад +3

      Both excellent choices that fit under an airline seat or in the overhead bin. The Air Duffel has more space (if you're looking to avoid baggage fees/headaches). The Air Duffel has a myriad of cool pockets too. Can't go wrong either way, though.

  • @sfomann
    @sfomann 4 года назад +1

    You have this air duffel and air porter. I understand that this air duffel has more space, but the question is does airlines consider this as a personal laptop item and not a carry on item? I like air duffel if it is considered a personal item, and airlines will let me carry this and a carry on. Otherwise the air potter might be a better option. You should also include comparisons of similar items in your videos since you don’t have a store for people to go and try out.

    • @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs
      @Sfbags_WaterField_Designs  4 года назад +2

      Hi Sfomann, My apologies for the delayed reply. The answer is yes to the Air Duffel -- it qualifies (on almost all airlines) as a "personal item" so you can take it plus a wheeled carry on. We actually designed it in collaboration with our frequent-flyer customers. One of our main goals was to maximize the allowable space for a personal item. I hope this helps.
