  • In this session, Tobias delves into how SAP improved both developer experience and security through the adoption of dependency updating automation. Today they leverage the Open Source tool Renovate for dependency management across approximately 15'000 repositories, to manage roughly 300'000 Open Source and internal dependency references.
He also expands a bit on the technical details and benefits of Renovate. He covers the general approach of adopting standard and Open Source tooling and how it can help to improve the developer experience.
Tobias Gabriel, part of SAP's Open Source Program Office, focuses on elevating the developer experience with Open Source at SAP. His efforts are concentrated on implementing technical enhancements to simplify the process of using and contributing to Open Source. Tobias tries to challenge, sometimes breaking, and hopefully improve the status quo.
Outside of work, Tobias enjoys skiing and traveling.
