  • Wfx is Siemens' lightweight, versatile, and Open Source workflow executor (sie.ag/4Jf3ea). This presentation chronicles the journey from a proprietary to an Inner Source approach. And from there to an Open Source solution.
Christian and Michael delve into the strategic considerations and rationale as well as into the Siemens process required for going Open Source. Being there, and as wfx is used in actual products, they highlight the (non-)technical duties and efforts in maintenance, community engagement, and nurturing an ecosystem around wfx.
Dr. Christian Storm works as Open Source consultant, architect and developer for Siemens Technology CED SES-DE.
Michael's academic journey in mathematics and computer sciences paved the way for his professional career as an IT consultant. In 2018, he transitioned to Siemens, where he now serves as a consultant specializing in embedded Linux systems and actively contributes as a developer focused on Open Source solutions.
