low price will never ever be transferred by the Indian government in the hands of the consumer. In India, the prices of petrol/diesel always increases. Even if the global prices fall, the Indian government refuses to pass on the benefits to the consumer and enhances its revenue to reduce its fiscal deficit.😑

Well I don't think UCC is wrong, our constitution itself says us to implement UCC in the future further more in 2005 supreme court Itself had ordered central government to implement it. So I guess it's not wrong having equal rights is good for all especially for ladies.

Even if petrol is included in gst, government will make sure we won't get any input credit won't be passed. So it won't make any difference in price and cascading impact will continue to exist.

@@cosmosapien597 Sri Lanka and Pakistan's situation is much different from India. Don't assume that the things which are applicable to other people/countries will necessarily be applicable to us too. Also, the amount of tax Indian government has levied is far greater than other countries, more than half the price we pay goes in tax. Why do they need so much tax on oil ? They give reason of oil bonds but we all know that they are purposely stalling the oil bonds payment because the want to retain that excuse. The oil bonds can be replayed quite easily, but they are not doing that.

Just so you guys know during UPA time international crude oil prices were high, so they created oil bonds to reduce the burden on common man.
But now, crude oil prices have fallen, especially importing cheap Russian oil, so now it's the taxes that have sky rocketed, so much so that fuel tax collection of around 2 years can directly be used to pay off remaining oil bonds.
State taxes are usually higher then Central taxes, because .e.g. Maharashtra govt. Collects from Maharashtra only. But the centre collects from the entire country.
Plus State taxes increased by 6%, whereas Central taxes increased by 16%, this is a massive difference.

Just a thought though - Do you think that lowering the petrol prices would create more demand for cars, which would in turn lead to more congestion on the roads which are already above capacity, and also lead to more carbon footprints? Bro you tried to maintain neutral..but some facts are missing..central excise tax is constant..but vat is percentage of price. When price of petrol increases it benefits states not centre ..you should have shown price break up for 110 rupees where state portion will be high .

Excise has been raised multiple times by Central govt.
While increasing price, VAT increases proportionately as it is based on percentage of basic price and hence centre and state get benefit. However, exice duty of centre is much higher compared to state. Also, non sharing cess collected by centre has not used for its purpose and it has vanished.
@@simonvarghese8673 Exactly central Government have raised cess in recent times to avoid sharing revenue with states. Hence now states are not ready to reduce vat as their pool from centre is reduced.

"Subsidy" this term is used to the benefits given to farmers
"Incentive" this term is used to the benefits given to corporates.
This is unfair.....we have been told many free things are given to farmers..... but in reality big corporates getting higher benefits from the government...... and we all know who defaults the loan the most..... and who gets more loan waiver.....so please don't think that farmers are getting free benefits
The farmers r 60% of the population and corporates r 0.01%. Both of these freebies r eating India from the Inside. Because of the large population though each one gets less the amt of money given by govt is huge.
