- Sutco RecyclingTechnik GmbH, one of the world‘s largest and most successful manufacturers of sorting and treatment plants for waste management, has made an important contribution to improving the recycling rate with the design and realisation of the sorting plant for packaging waste at the Porto site in Portugal.
Sutco Iberica, subsidiary of Sutco RecyclingTechnik GmbH, built a sorting plant for packaging waste with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year. Customer is LIPOR - Intermunicipal Waste Management of Greater Porto, Portugal. The input recyclable materials are materials from separate collection.
The process: Using manual and automated sorting technologies, the materials are separated and fractioned using near-infrared technology. For maximum sorting purity, processing in this stage needs high technical maturity in the plants combined with a rational, efficient treatment technology.
Output: High-quality secondary raw materials in the form of clean, separate fractions such as PET, HDPE, 3D mix plastics, PE film 2D mic plastics, tetra pack, paper & cardboard, ferrous and non ferrous.
