    La bollène - Col du Turini, l'une des plus belles route du coin (la descente de l'autre côté n'est pas mal non plus). J'y ai attaqué comme un fou, et sur la neige .... en 2 CV. Souvenirs, souvenirs ...

      Je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de voir une spéciale de l'autre côté il n'y a plus que le rallye de l'escarene qui le fait en montée, et a chaque fois les horaires tombent très mal donc difficile de s'y rendre

    Lots of high powered cars, and none of the usual Simcas, R11 or 206... why? Was it under different regulations than other historic hillclimbs?

      Basically the "Tour Auto" is not a rally in the same legislation as the FFSA, it's FIA based so they can make a bit of what they want,
      So their rules are :
      - Cars who participated at the original "Tour de France automobile",
      - Between 1951 and 1979,
      - Exeptions make for exeptionnal cars.
      The tour auto is not a hillclimb it's a rally who at the time was travelling the entire map of the france, and have many differents disciplines in it, l hillclimb, circuit and rally. It was one of the most prestigious race in europe back in the 50-70's. So since there was circuit many many huge cars were taking part of the race and the "small" cars were a little less, but still there, the thing is that nowadays for small cars like 2cv or dauphine the rally is more expensive than the car itself with it's 10K € entry. For simca 1000 it's a bit of this ( i know they value more but compared to ferrari 250GT it's nothing) but especially because there is not much simca 1000 rallye homologated in historic race because of what happened in the past with group F doubled with the fact that to homologate one it's immensely complicated because in France the federation doesn't like the Simcas and they will make everything to piss you off if you do it. ( and simca are 95% in france )
      The Renault 11 participated in the Tour auto, but in 1985-1986, and I think that in the group B period the race was not anymore with circuit. so that's why they don't take them I think, for the 206 they were created after so they are not elligible at all.
