It is heard that this Manthram is not to be chanted loudly( it is whispered into the right ear of the child by his father during Upanayanam function) by anyone and is restricted to only males who have Poonal .. nowadays only Brahmins have Poonal.. Previously Kshatriya and vaishya also had that...and it should not chanted always,.only during 3 Sandhya Vandana times 108, 32 , 64 times morning afternoon evening respectively.. anyone can contact Sankara mutt people for more information..Sri Maha Periyava saranam 🙏
