I like how Blackbeard still had respect for White Beards last words. He is so chaotic, but is also a pirate who believes in chacing dreams like Luffy.
You'll notice several times from white beards on-screen presence where his crew protected his back. Even Jimbei protected his back to make sure that no one scarred him there. They called it his pride. I think if I remember correctly. One more thing that just came to me as well. Even when Squard betrayed whitebeard He did not stab him in the back.
Obligatory comment for any anime-only: Whitebeard didn't lose his moustach in the manga when fighting Akainu... he lost part of his face. The anime censored and had him get a second hole just above the first. But it goes to show how much of a monster Whitebeard was.
You said in a previous video, but if you have the opportunity, read this arc. Oda style in the manga is not for everyone, but he went above and beyond during Marineford.

I'd say the manga is way superior to the anime, in pretty much every way (aside from the obvious lack of soundtrack and awesome voice acting lol)
@@fccview I can agree with that for the most part. I was an anime only and now i've read about 780 chapters of the manga. Still love both versions for their different strenghts.
I actually haven't heard the doctorate in law joke, lol. We did know his moniker is "Surgeon of Death" so the doctor bit checks out, though it was still a surprise.
The morality of the show is really interesting, and is showcased well here. We've seen good marines like Smoker and T-bone, and bad marines, like you know, Akainu mowing down people who are just retreating.
The civilians however are more likely to remember pirates as being evil because one bad pirate visit to their island can be traumatic and will automatically equate pirate = evil after that, hence the cheering at Whitebeard's death. Add in government propaganda (even here there were times where Sengoku was saying to shut the broadcasts) and you have a civilian population that mostly believes in the World Government's justice. It's interesting to think about for sure.
Marineford continuing to deliver banger after banger and hyped for the next video because it's no different.
I remember when I heard the line "there is no scar that he got while running away" for the first time. I sat there looking at the "to be continued" screen for like a solid 5 minutes just in awe

A 1000 episodes and the only explanation we have been given for Blackbeard having 2 devil fruits is just ✨ *He Is BuIlT dIfFeReNt* ✨
I read this chapter in manga in my native language that had really good translation editor notes for many things like accents, laughs and untransable lines etc. The quality is extremely good and I have noticed that the English translation lacks a lot of finer details. For Blackbeard's tremor tremor powers, he states along the lines of "This is the real power(/reason) why I wanted this fruit." It always gave me impression that he heard the abilities of dark dark fruit and immediadly thought of getting multiple powers and that's why he was looking for the fruit. I can't state that the translation is 100% accurate since I don't understand written japanese but knowing the translator, I would lean on that this was at least hinted in japanese.
Other editor tibbits:
Boa Hancock is speaking in regal japanese that is reserved only to japanese royal family.
Akainu also is speaking in very heavy accent. Don't remember if it's hokkaido but apparently it gives sometimes difficult to understand affect like scottish does in english as comparison.
"Free his crewmates" makes it seem those prisoners were always on Blackbeard's crew. He went to Impel down to recruit new members.
A really cool thing about Whitebeard shouting that the One Piece is real is that Luffy didn't hear it himself which fits with him not even wanting to know if it exists when Usopp asked Rayleigh back in Sabaody

Now that we reached THAT episode, I would like to bring a small info about Blackbeard. The name of the real English pirate known as Blackbeard is... Edward Teach. One Piece has a *Edward* Newgate (Whitebeard) and Marshall D. *Teach* (Blackbeard).

Also the fact that now Blackbeard has both the Darkness powers and Quake powers is so insane, especially when previously it's been so clearly established that people can't have two powers.
I'm not sure but I think whitebeard never used his fruit against the ground and I think it's because his subordinates were present and it would affect them too. Still, you could already see his power with just the collateral damage hahaha.

Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history! Kid's who have never seen peace and kid's who have never seen war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! This very place is a neutral ground! Justice will prevail you say? of course it will! Those who win the war, become the Justice!" since the marines and world government are at the top, what they determine is good is good. I think the world government at the end will be the final boss maybe and topple the government to fix the morality through our POV

Personally not a fan. It's anime only scene and doesn't really fit him as a character as he's never shown to be afraid of anything, therefore being out of character.

WB strikes from behind and Akainu lands on the ground. Akainu gets immediately up and takes part of WB's face. While Akainu is still in the air, WB lands another hit which shatters the ground. Akainu yells "Screw you!" for destroying the HQ and falls because he can't fly and everybody else would have fallen in that scenario as well.
Then Sakazuki returns and starts defeating the remaining commanders who gang up on him etc.

Another interesting thing to note is how similar yet different Luffy and Blackbeard are in some ways. They are both dreamers and believe in the One Piece, they want to become the pirate king and have massive ambitions. Yet the way in which both go about getting to that goal are total opposites, Blackbeard will do whatever it takes and is very similar to what people think about pirates at first while Luffy isn't a moral paragons but has limits to what he will do and has things he values above his ultimate goal.
However Luffy has been known to do things which could be horrible to achieve his goals, like in the previous arc by letting a lot of heinous criminals go free to escape Impel down and break Ace free.

personally I despise Blackbeard more as while Akainu is a piece of shit and kills Ace, ultimately while extreme in his beliefs of absolute justice he is still a marine and "doing his job". Blackbeard however set all of this up, betrayed his crew by killing a crewmate, handed in Ace and planned to take advantage of it. I think he is the more hateable of the two of them. Both are great villains/antagonists though.

Eh, no, saying physical punishment doesn't work at all seems just as biased as saying it worked in every case. We currently live in a world where that kind of reprimand is frowned upon, and the last few generations have been pretty bratty. And that's coming from someone in his twenties. I'm part of those generations.
Unfortunately, basically all of modern science disagrees with you.

"There did not appear to be any beneficial effects of using low levels of corporal punishment on the child's adjustment. In fact, there was some association with lower self-esteem in the child, even for low levels of corporal punishment use." (Aucoin, Frick, & Bodin, 2006)
We should be careful saying stuff like that - all generations are bratty when they're kids because kids are bratty. I understand why you might think physical punishment works, but all it does is provide trauma. Kids today are fine, you're just old enough to be annoyed by them now.

"The act of corporal punishment itself is different across parents - parents vary in how frequently they use it, how forcefully they administer it, how emotionally aroused they are when they do it, and whether they combine it with other techniques. Each of these qualities of corporal punishment can determine which child-mediated processes are activated, and, in turn, which outcomes may be realized."
She makes it clear there's a fine line between abuse and practical reinforcement, and that the parental association in punishment also affects lasting emotional development. Holden selectively ignored that in his review.
The 2006 study inadvertently reinforces Gershoff's conclusion, listing the caveat of its findings that the children in their study "who did not experience a warm and supportive family climate" were the ones exhibiting the worst emotional instabilities.
I understand if it's not for everyone, but there isn't the evidence you think there is. Holden was against corporal punishment from the start. Gershoff found exceptions that Holden chose to ignore in his psychological review. At best, her conclusion was that parental abuse was bad, but also that not all corporal punishment was parental abuse.
All I know is, I'm watching people my own age and younger doing things their parents or grandparents wouldn't have even attempted in their youth. Stupid things like trying to attack teachers for taking away phones, or the infamous "head-punching game." It's not that I'm old, judging a younger generation. I'm judging my generation, too. We're seeing the results of tying parents' hands, and it's not good.
@@JentWatchesOnePieceto be honest those bratty kids usually lives in western country its not the kids problem its their parents problem for not diciplining their child the gen z from most other country are doing fine focus with school to build a better future for their parents and family the reason why these other country dint gave the same problem as the american is because they teach their kids discipline and respecting ur elders
