Thanks Steven, appreciate you taking the time to watch and commenting.. Had a request for a better video of trike and camper. Will try to get it posted soon..
@@COACTUSFECI75 Approximately 300lbs fully loaded with everything i take.. i have no problem pulling it because i have a 1000w mid-drive motor that helps out when pedaling.. i also put 2-150w solar panels ontop of camper to help keep my battery for motor charged...the farthest i've gone in one day was 94 miles. But i prefer only going about 50 miles or less in a day.
What did you use to coat the outside of the camper? And what where the results for weather? Lol, again I'm here within the comments asking the same question
It was a clear coat you use on like the outside wooden doors on your house.. And when i camp in it i have a tarp that covers the whole camper and makes an awning..
OK, so far, so good. Now comes the hard part. By now you've had to pedal it up some hills. How are you going to redesign it to make it lighter? Everyone else's first trailers are usually way too heavy. It turns out that getting them down below 70 pounds can really be difficult. The lightest we've heard of is 44 pounds (Sakari Hohlma). Paul Elkins shortened trailer is at 55 and my lightest is at 61. When outfitted to camp, they're usually around 80. Good luck!
I'm building my pop-top micro-camper currently and it's still got a few months to go. I have estimated it's weight to be 660 pounds (around 300kg in my country) and I live where there's some very steep hills (small mountains actually) that need some serious power to climb. With much planning I decided 4 wheels with independent suspension on the camper was wise and each wheel with a hub motor and disc brakes. This was an expensive option but a must for making it up long steep hills without killing myself or burning out the tow vehicle, in essence it is able to push the tow vehicle rather than causing work. The tow vehicle is a 4 wheeled recumbent bike that will practically have the same set-up, but is a 40% scale model of the Tesla Cybertruck. It's going to be hopefully finished by May 2023 but the camper by September. Subscribe to follow along.
I used Helmsman clear gloss by Minwax.. Got it at Lowes... Its not exactly clear though.. It turned my white paint kinda tan-ish color.. Which i'm fine with.. Do not use a roller to put it on.. Your roller will start shedding and coming apart..
It weighs approximately 245 lbs fully loaded.. Have had no problems pulling it, even up hill.. The box itself is 32" w x 4ft h x 8ft L to the point in front.. Frame is 7ft long not adding the tounge.. Its built out of 1/8" plywood and 1x2's with alluminum frame made out of 1" square tubing.. Thanks for watching.. I'll try and make a better video and get it posted soon.. 😀
Yes.. The frame or chassis is alluminum and the box is all wood. 1/8th in plywood and 1x2 cross braces for the top, front, and rear.. If its nice out this weekend i will do a better more in detail video..
Thanks Sam.. Got lights off Amazon.. Partsam 4" Inch Round Truck Trailer Led Tail Stop Brake Lights Taillights Running Red and Amber Parking Turn Signal Lights, Sealed Dual Color Round Led Lights w/Miro-reflectors Flange Mount (2Pack) You will also need a 12v LED turn signal flasher relay if you want them to blink..
Thanks.. Its cold here but suppose to warm up later this week.. Might get it out and do a more detailed video of camper and also trike.. Would of done it sooner but i had covid all of November and half of December.. Feeling alot better now so i need to get my butt in gear..
@@smalltowncustoms9793 I've decided to make one very similar for my Mini Jeep. Your color scheme is almost identical to my Toy Hauler I made. Your post has me inspired to do so. Thanks
Approximately 245 Lbs fully loaded with all my camping gear, cloths, spare tires, and tarp for awning.. Its 32inches wide and 4ft tall from bottom to top.. I've only pulled it twice to go camping and have no problem pulling it..

Lol.. It was all done outta my head.. No blue prints.. Sorry.. But you can do it too.. The frame is 32" wide by 7' long.. The side walls are 4'x8'x1/8"thick with the front point cut out.... And all the cross pcs for the top, front, and rear are 32" long and made out of 1"x2" boards.. Technically the 1x2's actually measure 3/4"×1-3/4"..
Finally someone that have put a bicycle camper behind a recumband bike. Awesome. It's the best way for pulling some weight. Not so hard on the knees.
Also helps having electric motor..😀
I have no problem pulling it..
Just about the best design on tube looks comfy.

Thankyou.. More videos to come but trying to get over covid first..
How much would one these cost if you where to sell them?
It cost me around $500 USA to make so i don't know about the retail price.. You would have to figure in time and labor..
And if you added solar panels and lithium batterys your cost goes up quite a bit..
@@smalltowncustoms9793 true true. I live in the City so no place to build it myself. Unless I rent a garage 😂 giving labor and shipment maybe. $2k…….

You could do that too.. I,ve pulled a cargo trailer with motorcycle before.
Several different homeade trailers and differant motorcycles..
