When someone helps you that much you really do need to acknowledge them. When someone goes above and beyond you should show your appreciation

Yes, of course, lady. Just a thank you in front of the crowd to show that you appreciated her hard work that she helped you. You failed to do that. So why are you complaining?

If what she offered to do for your daughter’s wedding was so much that you’ve never heard of or seen that kind of help before and she did everything just as she promised, then you definitely under appreciated her and should’ve thanked her separately. Why do you think a thank you to everyone should’ve been enough when you clearly acknowledge that she went above and beyond for you? Just give credit where it belongs, it’s cheap it’s simple. Otherwise it’s gonna cost you.

Damn you’re at fault 100%. You should’ve paid her back. They helped you so much and were not even recognized. Yes some help you, but only a few dollars. She helped you about $2000 for your freaking daughter. You took advantage of her kindness!

It's crazy to think that a friend, not super close friend, would drop 2k for your daughter's wedding. It was your fault believing that she would help u genuinely wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return. Heck, i can almost guarantee u wouldn't help out with 2k either. Nothing in life comes free. It's good u learned your lesson.

Lol the part where you didn’t thank niam koob at your daughter’s wedding reminded me of when we had an uncle who did a big hu plig party for our aunt and he didn’t specifically thank one of our super Nyab (who did most of the planning and preparations) by name so she cried and left the party too.
But in reality, when someone have spent that much money to help you then you do need to thank them by name so they know that what they did was significant for you. The people who did not help or only showed up, then you can just thank them for their support.

The thank you to everyone on stage is fine since there are too many people. That friend never gave her the time either. If she never said thank you to them personally, then they got the right to be mad. If you offer to help and they forget to thank you for it, you shouldn't be mad.

I kind of get the lady. Hmong always give such a generic thank you at parties. People don't realize how much time, money, and resources go into these things. I'm not that petty, but I have done a lot for people, and in the end, I just feel used. I don't say or change my relationships because of it. I just don't offer as much of myself to people anymore. That's all I have control of.

Well, if she would be to upfront with u about getting recognize, would she have done it? Not many people have the face to say what they expect but they do expected especially if they go above and beyond. And i get it, you want to keep it short and thank everyone altogether, however those that put more effort in would had appreciate some sort of recognition at the moment, not afterward. A mention of their names dont hurt..
Anywho, its a petty situation how she kept all the receipts, even gas receipt to repay her back. A lesson learned for u for future reference. Given thanks and recognition to those who help u or dont accept their help at all.

This why stop believing people when they say they do it for free. Remember to record people so you have a leg room to sue her.
Plus nothing is never free. If you don't have the funds to do a big wedding don't let someone convince you to do it. Just do a hmong wedding and later if the kids wants a American wedding they can do it on their own.

Yeah, you were in the wrong. If they spent $2K to help you and your Husband for Your Daughter's Wedding, and everybody else only helped by showing up then you were in the wrong because the least you could have done was say thank you. This is why I don't accept other people's help even if they offer because I don't want to owe them anything and I know it's a LOT of work and money. The Hmong Community seems very ungrateful and doesn't say thanks where thanks are due sometimes, and just "EXPECTS" people to step up and spend LOTS of money or effort to do something that they don't even get recognized for. That Couple needs to learn that a lot of the Hmong Community doesn't recognize money or hard work, so they shouldn't give more than the average person or Go out of their way to help, so that they don't waste their time, energy, and money. Hard lesson to learn.

Lady in the story. Stop taking advantage of others because they have a nice and kind heart to give and support. Know ur boundaries with others. It was ur daughter’s wedding, so u take full responsibility financially. This is the best way to prevent problems. Therefore, u do not need to question ur friend, and u do not need to be upset and angry. It would be more embarrassing and losing face for u if u take her to the relatives to resolve the problem.
How u judge ur friend, yes she has a nice and kind heart, yet u have no appreciation towards people who supports u. Quit judging others as it will be judge upon u too. U feel she help for credit, but people like u wants others to help for free. How selfish can u be too, woman??? 😂

She may be selfish, but u also didn't show appreciation, especially when she stood out the most with the most help but u didn't acknowledge her at all. I see her wrong, but i also see your wrong too.

Hate to say it but you didn’t appreciate your friend enough… when you planned your event you mentioned you thought of her first … so for you to know she was a good friend who really helped you, you should’ve thank her and mentioned her name for her big help since I’m sure no one helped you that much during your daughters event…. Now you’re just bashing her flaws so everyone can agree with you… maybe she is a bit extra and want recognition but you should’ve thanked her, especially since you knew she left the wedding after your speech… you knew you left her out on purpose…

She dropped 2 grand helping you. You didn’t even mention their names at the party. Does everyone help you that much? That was your big mistake.

Niam Koob is Americanized. If you associate with educated folks, you will realize they thank their benefactors individually. Muaj cov pab xwv teb xwv chaw, but niam koob went above and beyond for you. I would agree she deserves credit.
