I never would have believed that the men who wrote "Love Gun" and "Bang Bang You" could do something so pensive and emotional. Thanks for surprising me, guys.
This could have been played on the radio, it would have done very well. Great song, if you are a kiss fan this song does not surprise you, because you have heard them play many types of songs from different categories of music. But it still surprised me!
I was born in the middle of the night And my mama raised a little boy On the banks of the old Foxy River In a little town in Illinois I was taught to believe in the Lord Yeah, even when the times got rough And though I do the best I can do Some times it ain't good enough And it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there My grandfather was a railroad man And he worked with a shovel in his hand He was one of the men who was sweating his way Across the motherland And when he talked about the great depression He said he hope he'd never see that day But it seems that as good as I'm doin' It won't be too far away And it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there And it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there And it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there Yes it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there I often wondered where the big trains went As they were quickly fading out of sight They would carrying the dreams of the people Out into the night Yes I wondered where the big trains went So I thought I would ride along Carrying my thoughts out into the night And it's singing my song And it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there Yes it's a long, long road to somewhere And it's a long, long time till we get there
This was released a few years back (2007) in a 2 disc album (300 copies worldwide, fanclub release) with 31 tracks (all recordings done by Wicked Lester) and it’s awesome, I have #240, I came across for a pretty penny, I love it, they did an amazing job on it.
Long, Long Road was recorded at Electric Lady Studio NYC......Stan Eisen/vocals......Gene Klein/bass......Tony Zarrella/Drums.....Brooke Ostrander/Tuba.. This is one of my favorite WL tracks produced by Ron Johnsen......best to all you guys/Tony Zarrella....
Keep me waiting & She (i've had to delete these FU youtube) were released on the official kiss boxset in '01. The rest i pieced together from the best quality torrents and other assorted downloads i could find.
Wicked Lester was originally called Rainbow. However, there was another band called Rainbow which was Ritchie Blackmore's band after he left Deep Purple.
this song shocks me. its a different world from anything Simmons or Stanley have ever written, the lyrics sound like something Johnny Cash would write. but Kiss is great, Johnny Cash is great, and this song is great. lol
Love this. Best Wicked Lester tune. Lyrics don't seem like something Paul and Gene would write. Or is this a cover? Wonder if Bob Ezrin ever heard this.
1972 was an incredible year for us. So many psychedelics. Peace on Earth.

I hear a bit of Neil Young here.
Thanks for memories
I was born in the middle of the night
And my mama raised a little boy
On the banks of the old Foxy River
In a little town in Illinois
I was taught to believe in the Lord
Yeah, even when the times got rough
And though I do the best I can do
Some times it ain't good enough
And it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
My grandfather was a railroad man
And he worked with a shovel in his hand
He was one of the men who was sweating his way
Across the motherland
And when he talked about the great depression
He said he hope he'd never see that day
But it seems that as good as I'm doin'
It won't be too far away
And it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
And it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
And it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
Yes it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
I often wondered where the big trains went
As they were quickly fading out of sight
They would carrying the dreams of the people
Out into the night
Yes I wondered where the big trains went
So I thought I would ride along
Carrying my thoughts out into the night
And it's singing my song
And it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there
Yes it's a long, long road to somewhere
And it's a long, long time till we get there

i was born in Elgin on the Fox River!
I never knew that. Interesting.
Ok...!!!! Thanks....
It sure is!
Wow. Why didn't KISS ever record this?
Linda Música!!!!
A country kiss
Should've been a kiss song. This plus beth would've been a great spot for resting on stage before going it fast again.
Didn't know KISS was a country music band first. 😂
How different do you think the history of music would have turned out if this album would've been released? Just a thought.
JasonL77 if they released this album, the band would’ve failed and you would’ve never heard of it because you would’ve never heard of KISS.
Love this. Best Wicked Lester tune. Lyrics don't seem like something Paul and Gene would write. Or is this a cover? Wonder if Bob Ezrin ever heard this.
I can't equate this song with Paul Stanley. Sounds like a Bob Seger song. Good one none the less
country Paul Stanley?
Where did you get all this songs???
This has been nagging at me for a long time....Who wrote this?
Good thing they Kissed lester goodbye
I like it better than KISS.
It doesn't sound wicked.
Definitely makes any CCR fan want to throw up.
