You are right, read your word because it is literally the avenue in which to build a personal relationship with God. The word says, In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and ->the Word Was God. So when you read your word/the Bible, you are actually being taught directly from God/Jesus. Thanks for supporting everything you share with scripture and also for sharing that we have to be careful to not inadvertently give the enemy of our souls/ the devil, glory. We need to remember that God works EVERYTHING, even the things that look bad, together for The Good of all. Not just one individual who thinks that they understand their own limited self centered perspective but for those who are the called according to God’s purpose. This means god in his omnipresence had a fuller perspective.
Thank you for reminding me, that as children of God, when we go through things, we are chosen for a purpose that is Good for all. And by reading God’s word we are reminded that the many greats like David, Job and Jesus who went before us not only weathered the storms of life but won the battles. If we’re team God, we win!
