How to Modify Winders using StairDesigner

While it’s safer to taper stair winders into and out of the turn gradually, it also means it takes longer to build the flight of stairs. In the UK, you can use winders just around the turn to make it easier and faster to build the staircase.
In this video, we look at how to modify which steps are winders, as well as how to adjust the tightness of the turn, and how to manually adjust each winding step so it is as easy to manufacture.

What about if you wanted to eliminate the winders altogether? How would you do that?

Hello Ibrahim, thank you for your message. The video is showing a quarter turn stair so are you asking if it's possible to eliminate all of the winders? Winders are always needed in a quarter turn stair unless you use a landing instead of a 3 step winderbox. If you need the straight steps to be done all in one go for the full stairs it is not possible, as it needs to be done in 2 steps as the video shows. What if I want to move where the winders start? I want two steps at the bottom, then my winders and then steps going up straight, can i do that with your software?

You can do this by creating a stair in the multi-flight mode. The winders must be created with landings. This allows you to control the step qty in the first and last flight. Download our software on the website together with our quick design Libraries. This will create a folder on your desktop in which you will find folder " models ". Open folder "3 steps adjustable winder stair" This stair is an example of this specific setup
