The new Feyd is a lot like the side villains you see in Chinese action movies. He’s the villain that is honorable and badass and doesn’t really go along fully with the main bad guys plans and is doing his own thing but still does evil shit
What I like about Feyd as a character was that he had a spoiled upbringing, where his success was given to him, like how his opponents in the ring were wounded. Yet he respectfully removes his armor to fight his final opponent on equal terms. And then respectfully returns Paul’s comment before battle. He definitely is a psychopath but he tries to be honorable in moments where it matters. Even if it’s all an act. At the same time, he doesn’t hesitate killing people he believes are beneath him. Reminds me a little bit of the concentration camp guard from Schindler’s list. When he started “sparing” people because for a moment it was an illusion of grandeur he put upon himself. But all he was doing was essentially placing a thin leash on himself that he could chew off at any moment and revert back to the animal he is.

The duel in new Dune feels like a gladiator fight between two of the best in the imperium. The one in Lynch's version feels like two kids fighting in the backyard😂
If we're being honest the Lynch version is book accurate, but it's definitely less cinematic, I've read the books and I personally enjoy the fight from doing part 2 more because feyd still wouldn't have been able to kill Paul, for something like that to work Paul would have to choose to let his own heart stop, if he's not going to choose to die you kind of have to cut his head off, I don't think even Feyd rautha would have done that to an honorable opponent, so in the end you still get the feeling that Feyd didn't stand a chance because Paul wasn't trying, but it also still gives you a narratively satisfying fight, so denise velneiuve did something with dune I didn't think anyone could ever do, he kept the original intent of the duel, while also making it more satisfying to watch for a viewing audience, this is one of the few places where I feel like the movie was actually better than the book, sure they did kind of change the nature of Paul's threat against the spice fields, but overall this film had more of a satisfying climax than the book did

1984 version is also worse in every conceivable way.
@@88feji "I'm sure there are also many intelligent people who loves the 1984 version more"....I don't know how many tbh...
More like people with no taste or discernment, who prefer cheap kitsch camp and bad acting...I'm sorry but that's the only logical conclusion for anybody who prefers this over Villeneuve's version...it's not even in the same league...even Lynch admitted this film was a disaster and disowned it
@@88feji wtf kind of opinion is this??? You actually came all the way to type that, really? What a deluded little person you are
How awful the old movie was 😂
the scene fro m1984 looks so poorly executed. Practical effects and poor acting.
It’s 1984
It was a different time, people had different tastes back then. I noticed that the 1984 dune holds the viewer's hand a lot. Lots of exposition and dialogue. The modern dune lets the viewer figure a lot of details out on their own
@@MultiAxianit’s a different time doesn’t really work when their are films from 1984 that have beautiful practical effects and acting and energetic fight scenes. Not to mention there’s films way older than the 80s that managed to do it too. A lot of this old action is closer to a stage play
@@T-h-a-t_G-u-y This was crap even for the time...trust me I saw it in the theatres, that was the general reaction back then...why do you think it bombed?....'Blade Runner' came out 2 years before this and had much better effects, better acting, better everything
@@stevensilver2880 Blade Runner came out years before just as an example.
Dune reboot is ghey
Glad Sting stayed with singing ,he sucked as an actor 👎
Dune 2 fight scene was terrible... nothing like in the book... always recreating the wheel.. always terrible...
Cry harder book purist
The new one is so clean and boring.
😂😂😂😂
It seems that someone doesn’t have money to buy tickets
Are you trying to say the old one is better? there's always that one guy looking for a way to be different smh
@@solen5529 The acting in the first one is 100% better, the new acting is a bunch of feminine babies that act like they're in the bold and the beautiful, which is majority of actors these days, it sucks real acting with good emotion is never coming back.
Always that one Mf.
