Sorry you had this experience. It doesn't sound like a fair process at all. I'm grateful I can work from home, if I wasn't allowed to I would have to leave my job and go through this process. To anyone going through this, I'm sorry it is difficult and sending you big hugs x

Hi Beverly! I'm ashamed having just "discovered" my post on your vlog on loneliness & chronic illness & your kind invitation which left my brain as soon as I left my computer (thanks S.L.E.). We are still living in the U.K. I think it's goodbye to our home in the U.S.A. as co-payments were ridiculous - one drug alone had a weekly "co-pay" of $99 & we had full coverage thanks to my husband's job. I also have to remember that insurance has a "cap" & didn't just continue for life! P.I.P., now there's a pip (bad joke). I must admit I preferred the old D.L.A. I was offered a home interview & my husband laughed loud & hard when I told them that I'd go to the interview as I was sure there were people who were more ill than I was :-). My interview took almost 3 hours & my interviewer said, "I've a box full of notes from your specialists so stop trying to prove you're fit & well" (LOL). I have decided that I am going to try & get my drivers license. I drove for almost 20 years in the U.S. & every Dec/Jan when we came "home" for the holidays & it was my key to freedom. Thank you, once again for taking time out of your own painful & tiring days to encourage others!

Oh you are hardcore trying to prove you don’t need as much help wow that’s impressive! I think getting your licence if you can would be such a wonderful way to get some freedom, I never learned cars terrify me but I know my husband loves to drive xx

I’ve shared this video to my local fibro support group on Facebook as I know some of them are heading towards the tribunal stage and are dreading every moment of it. Hopefully this will help to ease their anxiety a bit xx thanks for recording this for us, well done for being so strong xx ^Stacey 💜🦋

It’s similar here in the US. They make the process so long and difficult, hoping people will give up. Some people wait 3+ years for a decision on benefits. I am not on disability but am going to apply soon. I’m not looking forward to the hassle of it at all.

It’s horrible the way they treat us I wish they could see it from a caring place but they don’t! I hope everything works out for you love it’s so scary xx

It's awful how they just take our benefits with no notice and no way ti live with dignity. The system needs to change I'm so sorry you went through that

  • @frentbow

Pip should be easier to go through. Also I was on uc lcfw for 4 years and no one even my Dr didn't tel me about pip? I'm 2 points away from higher, people with more mobility than me get higher. They lie my assessor wrote I don't have baths so nil points, I told her I cannot due to fatigue! I'm reapplying for higher, wish me luck

It's so true they do lie and make it so much harder than it should be! Good luck if you can find a local charity to help you fill in the paperwork let me know how you get on xx
