John .. It took for Ronnie to learn to really embrace all aspects of the game before he could master the marathon that is the World Championship ie the safety game!
1:10:12 On Higgins’ pot: “He needs another one to keep the break going.” Brilliant commentator. What’s next, “If O’Sullivan misses this one, it’s Higgins’ turn.”?
In a few days Ronnie will kick off his run for the 2019 world snooker championship ranked number#1 in the world, can anyone imagine these 2 fresh faced kids would still be kicking ass and taking names
Amazing footage! Reminds me of another documentary shown on TV just before the 1994 or 1993 Embassy World Championship which recapped the proceedings of the previous year's tournament. One thing that I remember are the comments about Jimmy White losing in the final. I was always Jimmy's fan and seeing him losing had a really bad effect on me. Another thing that I sharply remember about the documentary is the background music - it was Going Home by Mark Knopfler. I'd be really grateful if someone can share a recording of that documentary.
Stephen Hendry is the greatest of all time. 5 consecutive times World & Master's champion & 8 consecutive years as world number one! Most consistent player in history...
@@sugs1191, Hendry was amazing, but he didn't have anywhere near the competition Ronnie has had. Sure Nigel Bond was 1 of Hendry's opponents in a world championship final. There was nobody like Selby or trump in the 90s.
@@bordercollie1140 sorry but that's a common misconception you make there. I will agree that Ronnie has had harder competition but that's in part due to his longevity. Ronnie also faced Graeme Dott {decent but not great) and Ali Carter (lame) in finals. In the late 80s and early 90s he had to knock a peak Davis off the top spot - a player I rate even tougher than Selby and still better than Trump. Thought Trump may overtake him. In the 90s - John Higgins was at his peak and he's still arguably the best player still playing certainly better than Trump and Selby. John's absolute peak was from 95-99 imo. You also forget that Ronnie O Sullivan was incredible in the 90s - certainly the standard Ronnie was playing at in 99 was better imho than Selby . There was Mark Williams too who Hebdry had an incredible rivalry with. Williams was world class in the late 90s and early 2000s. That aside I rate Ken Doherty, John Parrot and Peter Endon and Jimmy White all as incredible players who would of caused Selby some problems. There was plenty of competition in the 90# at the top.
@@sugs1191, It's a common misconception to you, you wrote it as if it was a fact. Secondly I don't agree with you but I fully respect your opinion. Best of luck my friend.
that's rather weird how the referee says "6, John Higgins" instead of "John Higgins, 6". is it up to the referee how he wants to say it or dictated by some rule?
One thing I feel about ronnie is that from the very start he was so disrespectful towards other top players while most of those players used to respect him and acknowledged his goodness but he was more of a jaleous and disrespectful person
It is great to hear to voices of John Spencer and Ray Edmonds.
My 2 favourites of all time and they still manage to put together great matches
1:19:32 there's a nice summary of the Masters up to that year
Who’s here after he won this an 8th time 🚀
Two great champions who have huge respect for one another. Doubt we will see the like again.
As good as Ronnie was it amazing he never interrupted Hendrys peak era from 1990 to 1999. Only Doherty, Higgins and Parrots held a candle to him then.
John .. It took for Ronnie to learn to really embrace all aspects of the game before he could master the marathon that is the World Championship ie the safety game!
THEY LOOK SO YOUNG!!!
BlankBulleta5 Ikr.
Especially Higgins. Like a wee boy😆
Because they were young 😁
25 years later and they're still at the top.
Twenty-seven maximums in professional competition combined now
Time goes fast. I love these guys
tony yao Ich auch.
2 all time greats
It's like nothing has changed for the generation that grew up with them, like I did.

That positional shot at 44:16. Ufff.

@@gynandroidhead has he lost weight!?

Two of the best players ever
1:38:16 & 1:34
young boys
damn time goes so fast
What is the music's name that plays in the background thorough the end? Plz
Higgins looks about 5 stone lighter.
John Street told off members of the audience.
He was the man.
1:15:54 did the yellow go in?
wow higgins has aged
Ppl who said higgins and ronnie is still a teen or not as good as playing now it's ultimate rubbish.

No longer the case Ronnie has overtaken him as the GOAT.
I still think Hendry is the goat. For a long time Ive had John Higgins at no. 2. I'd probably put Ronnie ahead of John now

Up to the referee to say it but it seems from the late 90's onwards they say the player then the number. Before then it was the other way around.
Harry Broughton interesting
Yautja name then the number just rolls off the tongue a lot better as well 🙃
Ronny I see but Higgins where
What
How old were they?
they were 19-20 years old :)
Both 19 years old John looks so different today Ronnie is still the same
Did that yellow go in I can't remember
The amount of coughing is concerning
more people used to smoke back then
Роник молодой совсем. Красавчик.
Goddamn!! John is thin with hair!!

Good old match fix Higgins
Nigga introduced John as John Higgin................ 90's Cringe right there.
not this scotch berk again after every frame - totally unnecessary and a constant unintelligible irritant
