    In this clip, Jon B talked about making the track "Are You Still Down" featuring Tupac. He detailed their studio session and the good vibes that were exchanged on musical and purely human levels. Jon B said he was taken aback when he learned that Pac really dug his music. He also recounted how the label didn't want to put out their collaboration due to having such disparate images. However, Pac's untimely death just two weeks after their studio session changed that.

    Jon B originally said that he didn’t want to release the song, because Tupac had just died and he didn’t want to make it seem like he was clout chasing off of his death. But Tupac’s mother Afeni told Jon, that Tupac played that song for her and He was very proud of it. So she gave him her blessing to release. That’s what He would have truly wanted ❤️

    Wow Pac was really a student of the game, him having Jon B's album in his car basically studying him to understand his style and adapt to it. That's amazing! Tells you Pac had a true passion for music.

    2pac was the only rapper I can think of that could legitimately get on a real r&b song & still make it work without it sounding too street with cussing & vulgar rhymes but not loose the street edge at the same time. The reason being was he was a poetic writer from the heart.

    Kind of crazy that this guy is in his mid 40's. He looks 29 at the oldest. Between him looking young and his music, I'm not totally convinced he isn't black.

    You know he’s good when he did tracks with Pac, Nas, Jay, and AZ. My favorite solo joint gotta be “Bad Girl” though..oh wait..forgot about “They Don’t Know”..that was fire too. Awesome he was there during the infamous Pac interview with Sway that was later released on the In His Own Words CD.

    The OG version of the beat is 2Pac's "Tongue Kissin". Pac has a lot of OG material out there and most of them are better than the remixes that came out after his death. Props for all of these interviews from the people we're all interested to hear from, telling their story.

    Soon as I started writing Jodey Whatley and Rakim he said it lol. 2Pac made me a Jon B fan. I didn't really know who Jon B was and bought his tape because Tupac was on it. Been a fan of Jon B's ever since. That was probably about 98.
