I’m thinking of purchasing a scan and I’ve watched your videos on it and really like them. Have to admit it scary to me never owned a machine that cuts. You make it look easy, as long as I can watch your videos. Thank you
Thank you for the review. I picked up some things I missed the first time i viewed the scan n cut several months ago. I love the way you show us everything from the beginning as if it was our first time. It’s amazing how much we forget over time. Your videos are amazing and your presentation of each step so professional. What a wonderful gift you’ve been blessed with!
Becky, you are sew good at explaining. I don't have the Luminaire, I have the Brother Quattro (not planning on getting the Luminaire) but love watching your videos.I also have the nq1700e. I still haven't been able to figure out how to connect it wirelessly.
To wirelessly connect your machine: There is a settings button on the front of the machine - it looks like a page with a corner turned down - it's under the screen on the bottom row. Tap that, and then use the arrow buttons above that button on the front of the machine to cycle through the pages until you get to Wireless LAN Settings (mine is page 12 but I have a combo machine so yours might be different). Tap Wireless LAN Enable to ON, tap Wireless Setup Wizard. It will look for your wireless network. When it finds it, if there is more than one network it finds, tap it on the screen and choose Connect. Put in your password when prompted and complete wireless setup. Hope that helps! PS, I have a Quattro too down at the coast. I love that machine!
Hi Becky, love your videos. Question? Unless I am missing something, if you used the embroidery cd, why did you need to create an svg file in Embrillance when the cd already includes the svg formats?
Well, I use both because they do different things. If you usually only do embroidery with designs that are already digitized, then Embrilliance Essentials will be good for you. If you ever plan on using a ScanNCut to scan in paper applique patterns and then turn that file from the SNC into a digitized applique embroidery file, then the BES is the way to go. :) Alternatively, you can also use Embrilliance Stitch Artist 2 to also turn the fcm file from the SNC into applique. Decisions decisions! Here's my link to Embrilliance if you decide to purchase. bit.ly/3EwL2wc
I love this video it is really awesome how fast you embroider the witches hat, and the eaze binding mat is really neat, it is really a easy way to make binding. Have a great day and keep the videos coming I enjoy watching them.
Do you recommend the rotary blade when cutting fabrics? Do you use terial magic on fabrics as well as heat and bond light? Love your videos and appreciate your attention to detail.
I always cut with a rotary blade because I get such a better result than with scissors. And no, I've never used TM. My favorite spray is Faultless Quilting and Crafting Spray.
That makes sure that the fabric is large enough to cover the placement line so the tack down stitch will catch it. I found that the default of 1.5 makes the fabric just a tiny bit too large and more micro trimming is needed after the tackdown. I don't have that at 1.0. Learned my lesson!

Becky, thank you so much. I wasn't going to make this one, but now I want to since it is so stinking cute!!!
Thanks for the tip on how to prevent getting your finger pinched. That is the thing I dislike with that hoop. As always you are a great teacher.
Great info thank you
I love how detailed your tutorials are. Thank you for another informative video!!
Thanks for watching!
Great review. Aren't we supposed to use the Gold blade to cut fabric?
Either blade will work for quilting cottons. I use them interchangeably.

What do you have your lever on the left side on 1 or 2?
Always on 1 unless the machine tells me to change it.
Hi Becky, love your videos. Question? Unless I am missing something, if you used the embroidery cd, why did you need to create an svg file in Embrillance when the cd already includes the svg formats?
The svgs on Kimberbell CDs are usually too small (for some odd reason). I get a much better fit if I make my own.
Thanks for explaining
Becky you make the process look so easy and fun!!
No ribbon or bow?
I'm not a fan of 3D elements in my quilts because they get smashed in storage. :-)
@@PowerToolsWithThread oh yes I never thought of that. I think I’ll just sew a rick rack across to breakup the hat a bit. These turned out so cute!
You are so thorough. Love watching the ease with which you do this. I'm looking at 2 software's- Embrillence and BES Blue. Which would you recommend?

Thank you so much. I know you have discussed this before but I couldn’t find the right video. This helps me a lot.

So cute! Did you use simply applique to convert the file to applique? I feel like I missed a step! Always such great information in your videos.
I used the embroidery design on the Cuties Embroidery CD. You didn't miss a thing! lol Thanks for watching!
This one is so cute
What is the purpose of the “inflate” where you changed it from 1.5 to 1.0?
That makes sure that the fabric is large enough to cover the placement line so the tack down stitch will catch it. I found that the default of 1.5 makes the fabric just a tiny bit too large and more micro trimming is needed after the tackdown. I don't have that at 1.0. Learned my lesson!
Made 4 table toppers
We need a CHICKEN UPDATE! ;-)
