Thanks Alex. Very clearly and well explained. I shall be pausing and reminding myself through my day, that I AM ALREADY AWARENESS, and BE AWARE OF BEING AWARE. Be blessed!.
Thanks for another awesome insight! In a future, could you make a video talking about what I call the 'great fear', which is basically the questions that stop us from moving ahead confidently towards recognition of our true self, i.e: "will I stop caring for my loved ones after awakening?, will I stop caring about my job? How will I sustain myself in Maya if I don't feel like thriving anymore?, Will I become a nihilist?". 🙏🏻🧡
Yes, I don't understand how any of this is possible if you have to interact with others. We're basically talking about shutting our minds down and not thinking about anything at all related to the past or the future. Living in the now and being completely spontaneous and organic without hesitation or rumination or any form of second-guessing, questioning, or analyzing. For someone like myself, this is incredibly difficult, as my entire character and identity has always been based on my intellect. I honestly don't know how to live without it, and it seems like if I did, I would just be this flakey, spacey person, living in their own dream world. Is it possible to fall asleep while you're still awake? This is what I interpret Awakening to actually be. Letting go of all conscious thoughts and dropping into your body, to navigate the world more like a primal animal.
Thanks Alex, you make a very excellent point, its really simple when we are present in the moment and realize that we are not the thoughts in our head, that there's really nothing to do, it's all within, It's already there, We just keep getting lost in mind Identification, Thank you for this video Alex, I found it very helpful.
When you are present you cannot be bored. Boredom is when your thoughts are focused on wanting something you believe is more interesting or better than what is happening in this moment. You are craving something else or avoiding what is. Ask yourself "who or what is bored?". There is no entity or self that is bored. There are just thoughts, feelings and sensations happening. Bring awareness to the present and boredom disappears.
What, pray tell, makes 'infinite awareness' more true than our personhood? Who says that that is the truth? Just because it feels lighter, easier, more satisfying? What if the challenge of personhood did not exist? Would awareness not essentially be, nothing? Pointless? Not worth anything? Non-duality presumes that any single thing can be anything by itself and complete. That would mean that it is perfect, static and without experience. Action, reaction and any interaction cannot arise from just one. It always requires at least two. The paradox is, that God, the universe, infinite awareness, whatever you wanna call it exists. But that it would be meaningless without struggle, pain and separateness. You wouldn't need to make this video, since what you call the illusion of personhood wouldn't even be perceivable. You wouldn't exist or be perceivable. Both unity and separation are real. Both are illusions. Entirely depends on how you look at it.
I mostly agree with you. I'm just not sure what you mean by "Non-Duality presumes..." The Non-Dual Absolute appears as the relative duality. Yes, everything in the world of form, like action and reaction require two. What awakening is pointing towards is the fundamental nature of that apparent two, which itself is 'not-two'. A metaphor: The screen appears as two, but there is only a single screen. It's not that the personhood is 'less true', it's just that it has a fundamental basis beyond its relative reality. Otherwise, I agree.
@@AlexShailer Well, it's kind of in the name. Non-Duality in this context means there is only one, not two. But there is only one AND there is two. The duality lies in the paradox. A paradox being the most extreme expression of duality. So if you really agree with what I said, I just find Non-Duality a misnomer for this concept, because it communicates something entirely different.
You dont need to follow ideals or goals as to staying "awake" all Day. Thats just a concept, an idea of the mind. Trying to be a perfect yogi i called the golden chain of rightousness. dont listen!
Notice that all these nondual teachers live in nice safe civilised circumstances, which supports their safety and freedom to give their talks and live a relaxed, often nomadic lifestyle, focused on me and my awakening. This being their main or only job and bubble. The encouragement not to be identified with the mind, misses all the critical thinking and creativity, that must go into their show. The shadow side of not using the mind as well, to think and reason and discuss, has been all the sh*t show scandals that have followed many, if not most, gurus, with its blind uncritical obedience. We need something more nuanced and complete than the usual preferencing of ‘absolute truth’ over ‘relative truth’, and all of its spiritual bypassing dysfunction. Ramana Maharshi would have died with the neglect of his body, if others hadn’t intervened, and spent his life in caves and ashrams. Nisargadatta, smoked himself into throat cancer and visited prossies.
sounds like you're focusing on negativity and cynicism, which is your right, if you believe that's part of your journey, have fun with it, but it's your choice. when you say sri ramana maharshi "would have died" due to neglect, you're making up a fantasy scenario that didn't happen, you're trying to suggest he existed in a vacuum. but the truth is, he did not exist in a vacuum, he existed as part of a greater whole, that loved and cared for him, because he was love itself. and the people that came to him throughout his life, were manifestations of that love. nothing happens to us randomly, we each encounter exactly what is needed, whether we deem it helpful or problematic.
Sounds like you've not watched a lot of my content my friend. I've never positioned myself as a guru, never said not to think critically or be creative, never advocated prioritising 'absolute truth' over 'relative truth' and actively advocate for the integration of the two. Yes, this is my 'main job' and 'bubble' after being an electrician for many years, and something I built from the ground up. I'm not sure if you want me to live in a unsafe, uncivilized environment, or something, as if that would legitimize the message? Do you? I have compassion for you if you do. I was confused by that bit, because you don't know anything about my life experience. Peace and blessings and I hope you find whatever resonates with you.

Blessings to you too
it sounds simple but it's so hard to stop identifying with our thoughts
I have been practicing awareness presence in everyday activities, and voila, a wild video manifests. Nice!
The algorithm is strong with this one 😉
Also a nice way of putting it is: Awareness is always there, it's the thoughts that arise in awareness and disappear, but awareness always stays.
Thanks for another awesome insight!

Yes I will or something very similar.

You don't need a tattoo. Your skin and body are perfection just the way they are.
Gold! 🙏
How about the boredom?. At times you are consumed by your experiences because of boredom.

Perfect❤
100%
Thoughts are like gold fish in a bowl. Or clouds in the sky.... They come and go. Give them not wasted attention. They will soon disappear.

Saying "that's just a concept" is one of the biggest spiritual bypasses ever
