Yup, my voice is weird in this one. I explain why in the video, while also giving you a rundown of my experience with PayPal and why I’ll never use them again.

Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

PayPal still sucks. Here’s why.
Yup... They sux the dust right outta unicorn bawlz..
They're holding several hundred doll hairs, 3 months after I made and delivered 120 custom wedding candles 😡
@@denisehaley9271 that is ridiculous!
Yep. My card was stolen and used. They refused to refund my money. Even after I sent the police report, they paid for the v the stolen merchandise. Throwing my normal account into overdraft. I've not activated a new card either, because of all of their foolishness
@@quanitajones5014 that is horrible!
Thank you for talking about this! I'm new to all of the payment things and I haven't touched PayPal yet and now I won't. Thank you for saving me!
So glad you made the point about PayPal. I was warned about them some time ago, I don't trust them either. Will never use them. Love your soap blocks, they look fabulous. 😍 😍
As a small business owner, I use both PP & Stripe. I find Stripe’s website very difficult to navigate. OTOH, doll hairs are automatically released, as opposed to PP making you request it (and then keeping it in your case). Sorry to hear about your bad PP experience. Asking to talk to a supervisor, as you did, can magically fix many things. Too bad it didn’t work for you this time.
I look forward to hearing how Stripe works for you. 🤗
I'm awfully glad I saw this video. I was seriously looking at using PayPal as my payment gate once I was able to get up & running, but now I know I need to research my options. Thank you so much! 💗
Thank you for going into detail so that all of us that are a little slower, like me, can understand.
You are not slow. But you’re welcome for the detail. 😂
👌👊🏻 🙌🏻 Yes!!! Thank you! Needed to be said, My 11-year-old son was watching your video with me, By the way thank you, you’ve taught me tremendously in my soapmaking endeavors, well he said why not use PayPal what is PayPal, to which I replied don’t use PayPal just don’t lol
I've never have used PayPal. I've never needed too. I'm glad you brought this up, because I was going to try them. NOT NOW!!! No way, Imnot getting into them holding even part of my money for longer than 72 hours. Fudge that. I work hard, just like everyone else that makes a handmade product. I want paid in a timely manner for said work. I'll stick to Square and my business banking account. I can control my bank and Square to a large extent and of coarse my store accounts are paid by business check. I'm good, don't need any hassels. Thank you so much for the heads up. I think I'll also look into SHOP, I get a lot of my deliveries through them, related to small businesses.

How is clean up going? Everyone feeling ok?
As a consumer I avoid PayPal, using it always seems to invite quite a bit of spam into my email. I will not be the least bit sad if they are not an option. In fact I only use them when I have no other choice.
I cannot stand paypal....been hacked too many times on PayPal.
Adding citric acid to my dish soap was a game changer
What benefit does citric acid confer?
It’s a chelator that helps with hard water stains and soap scum. It also consumes the lye, so you have to be careful when using it. We’re doing a deep dive on this in a few days!
I've bought lots of different sized and shaped ice cube molds, silicone ones, from HomeGoods. I love them lol. Some I've actually used hah!
I’m addicted to molds.
@@MrsSoapAndClay I haven't met a mold I didn't like 🤦🏾♀️
Aha...I would ditch PayPal too. At the moment I very rarely process any transactions with it and it just helps having it for people that don't have Venmo, cash or card - being able to accept payment in any form just helps lock in that sale at craft shows. When I'm able to move beyond Etsy and stuff, I'll definitely heed your advice and learn from this.
I don't have a PP account, and now, I doubt I ever will...thanks😉
*sorry you had to go through that.
I use stripe where I work. It’s great, easy to use, but I haven’t had any issues so I don’t know how their customer service is. We get our cash after 2 business days.
Absolutely have had zero problem with stripe for over 5 years. Their reports aren’t as wonderful as stripe but I do quite like them
They just want the interest on the money. It’s disgusting
I HATE Paypal! They screwed things up so bad for me 10 years ago I will never use them again.
Paypal have had a stranglehold on online transactions for too long. Funny you mentioned having a tesla during, given the vaguely shared history.
Since this video, I have replaced the Tesla with a cooler electric car, but for many reasons that are not at all PayPal related. 😂
I don't use Paypal anymore either. Had problems with them too. :/
I just made my first coconut soap. Wow I never knew PP lad a limit. Who knew. That’s scary they held it. I know shops had money taken away the made from sell cbd products.
Really? Wild!
What is Stripe? What are the benefits of using Stripe? Can you do a deep dive into payment methods? Thank you and enjoy Napa.
Hey! I’m actually gonna have Mr Webman on the channel soon talking about all things web, so stay tuned!
Thank you so much. 💕
yes i agree NO ON THE PAYPAL and yes to STRIPE
Stripe has been great so far
That is what Mr Webman has been recommending for years.
I made dish soap this weekend. I put some of them in a small ice cube mold and it has sooooooo much soda ash. Too much water?
Does the soap nuts add superfat to the dish soap? Maybe that's why it is not drying on hands.
When we I got to the supervisor finally, a very angry lady told me "Don't like it. Close your account." And hanged up.
While I. Watching i remember
Ed whatv8 have always wanted to ask. Can you reuse those soap nuts for multiple batches. They are expensive! Or is there a wholesale place one can order from?
I reuse them for multiple batches, though the potency obviously diminishes with each lye solution.
Hello what is the water lye ratio for dish soap
I’m about to go with stripe to have the google and Apple Pay which is better anyway
I’ve been with stripe for a few years now and have no regrets.
That's a lot of doll hairs. PayPal must be making an awesome doll =/
Like one of those American Girl doll things. 😂
@@MrsSoapAndClay Haha
Now I don't wanna use PP. 😫
Try square!
Oh wow. This PayPal story sucks! They're not really being a *pal* are they? If I ever start selling, I'll avoid PayPal for sure. I managed Square for our social club when I did the treasurer thing; I liked Square. I haven't used Stripe.
Square is super good! Also, I saw a comment from you a few days ago that then disappeared into the ether before I had a chance to respond. Hope things are more positive than negative right now. ❤️
@@MrsSoapAndClay I appreciate the thought. It's... complicated. Today was a good day though. Work wasn't bad, I got my partner's gift wrapped, and I bought some metallic paint pens to play with for signing the gift. =P
Link for the ice trays?

You should have dealt with them at the start of the dreaded virus. No real people's to talk to. Raged screamed daily for aost 3 weeks. Told PayPal GTH in the end.
PayPal was playing games!!
PayPal is a damn menace.
PayPal sucks
