Not a bad price for the truck. Look forward to your first video with it! I would be curious to learn more about your experiences with importing it - that would be a great video for those who might be interested in doing this.
Yeah. Need to clear CARB. The only place that does that is G & K in Santa Ana. I called them and they're not doing it right now so we'll see if that changes in the future.
@@MrAncientAstronaut I picked one on the cheaper end at $1600. They're normally 2-4k depending on condition and age. The shipping was 2k + another 1k for Montana registration + maybe $400ish in paperwork so definitely spent 5k so far and I haven't done any repairs.
Might have Montana or South Dakoda plates for a bit while I figure out California. It has to clear CARB and the research so far is saying that will be expensive or maybe even impossible. Will cross that road when we get there.
@@davidpaquini2148 Hi! Sorry for the late response! We were out of town. I haven't done all the research, but I think South Dakota or Montana just wants money and will mail you plates.
*tiny beepbeep* :D Looks like fun. I've always kinda wanted a Bedford Rascal (which I think was the Suzuki SuperCarry, in the US?), but never really got around to it. Hope your li'l truck is everything you want it to be.
Yeah! I'm still waiting for BOL and will make a video on filling out the ISF. I don't think there is an easy way for us CA residents. Looks like we'll need to spend a lot of money and/or loop hole.
@@ADentistDoesHomeImprovement I’ve seen a kei truck around CA reg to Washington, and I heard AZ it’s possible. I got my own twic to pickup at the port. But I heard getting a broker is easier and they can ship direct to your location instead of picking up at pier.
@@pder Ya. I'm planning to register out of state first to buy time to get CA plates. Broker is definitely easier, but I want to do this video series with as much diy as possible.
im excited for you!! i want one too!!
Thank you! Good luck on your journey!
Thank you! Enjoy your truck, it looks like a nice truck!
You're welcome! Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah! That's why I started this series because there wasn't too many videos on importing these in California.
I thought you can't register here because of emissions?

@@ADentistDoesHomeImprovement what was your total cost?

So... what's the plan when you go and register it?

@@ADentistDoesHomeImprovement How do you register it in another state? I've been wondering how to do this for years.

Thanks! I can't wait to get it, but I know there is a lot of hoops to jump through and I'm expecting everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
Any updates? Following your journey cuz I’m in the same boat as a CA resident
