    Bugger, with all the effort in putting that motor in the jeep for it to have some dodgy cylinders. Thanks for the vid boys!

    You say about having all plugs out so you don’t get a higher reading then it actually is.
    I didn’t see or hear you have the inlet/carb wide open. Without that it’ll also give incorrect readings.

    Hi. Shouldn't you be opening up the throttle blades to the full position when doing a compression test?

      I never open the throttle blades on a v8. I test them how they would be running at idle. If you open the throttle blades and pick up 3 psi it’s not going to make any difference. Only small motorbike or car engines need to be tested like that and if it does goes up a bit, I always use the lower figure anyway.

      IMO, it's not going to make any difference. I encourage you to try it both ways though, I expect you'll agree.
      The reason is, the engine won't be turning fast enough to make a difference (the cylinders will be completely full of air, not a partial vacuum).

    hi mate just asking whats the best way to seal rocker covers what the best gaskets thanks

    • @thclevoking
      @thclevoking  2 года назад

      The rubber that comes with the fel pro are not too bad I glue one side to the underside of the cover with RTV silicone. Some certain kinds of rocket covers only seal with cork if you can’t get the rubber gasket to sit flat inside the edge of an old pair of holley or mt covers they really need cork or to be machined flat for rubber.

    Clevos suffer big time from stretched timing chains, as well as the OEM gears break. Replacing the chain and gears makes 50hp!
    That Jeep has all the leads zipped together. Instant crossfire!
    And it seems a Pro Comp dissy. Throw that in the bin as they are pure garbage.
    The intake tray is still needed on an alloy intake. Even an airgap one really.
    Those plugs are all over the place. Has it got any valve stem seals? It seems to be an XA or XB engine.
