It would save anyone looking to make a Blood Angels army a substantial amount of money. Edit: also, if you really want to kit out your death company, you have to have eviscerators and inferno pistols that come in the upgrade sprues.
For sure! It's always more efficient if you can get hold of limited run boxes. We don't use them for these lists so they're more evergreen and accessible for new players!

I think people are down on the combat patrol because the upgrade sprues and sang guard are less flash than their predecessors, but honestly it's an incredible box for starting Blood Angels specifically. You can buy it twice with 0 overlap by just painting the second set of intercessors and captain black for Death Company. If you want to get into kitbashing or 3d printing parts (some gorgeous jetpacks for sang guard out there!) you could even get a 3rd box with still no overlap by painting another set of death company+captain and giving them jump packs. I dont think there's been a 10th edition combat patrol refresh that you can get twice with no overlap, let alone 3 times with a little bit of kitbashing (or printing bits).
I'm a big fan of the new combat patrol. I'm starting a flesh tearers army so the captains getting kitbashed into seth. And flesh tearers sanguinary guard aren't meant to look as fancy so it's a win for me. Getting 2 box's

Still painting Tyranids but can’t wait to start my BA army. Have the BA box set w/ all DC and preordered the BA CP yesterday with a Dante and Sanguinor. Almost have the full army on your list. Can’t wait to paint em and get my first TT game in.

Thanks!! Down to personal preference really, a mixture is definitely a good way to go and gives you some more options. The death company units do have some extra spice in the game, but cost a little more in points. But yeah a mixture of the two is definitely the way to go!
Between the blood angels FOMO set and hopefully the Inner Circle Companion Xmas set I have my hands full. The big question is what to do AFTER that :) so much exciting sets coming out between Eldar, Krieg, Emperor Children! I may have chose the worst time (arguably best) to come back to the hobby. Don't need the specific anti tank with BA I just run a 10 man DC intercessor squad with a Chaplin for +1 to wound, with native re rolls to hit and plus 2 strength on the charge with the liberator assault group and you are golden, once used this squad to cut down a wraith knight then killed a wave serpent in the next turn (and this was before they got the sustained hits rule with the new codex so now they are even more deadly)
This also true Glasses Kieran ran 30 the other day. He cut down a riptide with 4 + Asorath and then in another game cut down a whole Maleceptor and Tyranofex!

I miss my blood angles. I still have my old Dante with his old honor guard and Mephiston along with 4 tactical squads and death company rhino from 3rd edition. If I had to restart. Would swap the sanguinor for Mephiston just because of lore. Would take 10 death comany jump pack and double redemptor dread instead of tank, eradicators and Inceptors. I have no idea what the points are, but 3 dreads and bunch of marines with swords running and flying at you sounds way scarier some gun covered tank and melts rifles. Great fun video. Cannot wait for next year to see IG or Eldar.
My first ever bloo angels I had some beaky marines, and 8 terminators (from the original 1988 boxset), so when I came back in the hobby I bought the Leviathan box and now I have 1 squad of regular terminators, 1 of assault terminators, aggressors, apoth. biologis, the death company box built as 10 assault deth company and 10 jump pack assault death company, I have 5 san guard, but will only use 3! Dante, Mephiston, Lemartes and astorath! Oh and a land raider crusader for the death company to ride in. And the old mini sanguinor, need the big bro one now!! Love the blood angels, although I think they get less love from GW than the space wolves and Dark angels

@@the_kieran_show I think a 6 man blob of aggressors with the apothecary biologist, and a captain could be good charging out the land raider, with +1 to attacks and +2 strength they could be pretty good at eliminating most targets. Lethal hits and re rolling wound rolls is pretty cool
A quick look at average salaries in the UK vs Australia: UK 36K GBP. Aus 45K GBP, note I converted it to pounds so you had it in context, according to google 89000 Aus dollars. So you comments on Australia getting a raw deal may be a bit of a moot point! Although I don't know how much they get taxed in comparison.
Been getting into Blood Angels myself! I like your list but it's a bit lacking in support/objective units. Thankfully with the point changes you could squeeze in some Scouts or maybe Infiltrators to hold the back. As for the codex and cards? Lmao wahapedia is free. And as long as your not playing competitive it's my top recommendation. I heard outriders are surprisingly good at it too.
I still have the old first born marine Blood Angels start collecting box, several sanguinary guard boxes with Death Company ones as well all sealed :-P Saving them for a rainy day ha
Being an SM player for all the paper is mad. I remember my mate buying the SM datacards just after the Codex came out and so much got shunted off to legends. I warned him not too but he didn't listen.
This is a very balanced space marine list which is what I usually bring in GTF but I also don’t win a lot either. Think blood angels lean more into combat due to the army rule, I have found the executioner does a lot of shooting and doesn’t kill much, better off running standard Repulsor with 14 capacity transport to run up the intercessors
You realise things are really bad when you see that an horde army from aos (skaven) is 350$ cheaper than a 40k elite army (blood angels), the fact that it's in the starter also doesn't really count since 10 hormagaunts have the same price of 20 clanrats and they're 65 points vs 150, an thanquol is cheaper than a norn and he's 360 pts vs 275/290
In Sydney if you go to Combat Company the prices are manageable. They are fantastic. But yeah, not only do we have to fight the wildlife, we also have to contend with empty wallets 😢

Their prices are much better than GW but they are also great guys who field a bunch of tournaments for many different games and do learning days for beginners.
It's worth noting that as of the points update, this list actually comes out to 1820 points... so you still have 180 points to do something with here. also, I'm not sure how you came out with 1995 points for your full list pre-points update... because based on the points you showed on screen (the old points), your list is only 1705...?
Combat patrol for blood angels is a great flavored box compared to Dark angels. But If I ever did start a BA army, those Sang guard will be the front of the army and I WILL be 3d printing them new wings. They arnt horrible, just I prefer the more gothic aesthetic of 40k than the tacticool :)
I get the FOMO box might not be available anymore but I'd defo point out that you can buy 3rd party for like 20% off - friends don't let friends buy direct from GW.

Lol death company dread naught, sucks, take normal brutalis, you say to buy 3 boxes jump intersecors with lamartes and the brutalis, that's basically the other box set, and you get astorath plus upgrade spru, so 250 quid, plus dante another 28 plus the plasma flying things whole army for 330 ish, I'll see what costing you come up with, remeber mine is including upgrade spru and codex and new data cards

This is a rough looking BA army gents. Drop the dreadnought, inceptors, eradicators and sanguinor for 2 gladiator lancers, 2 more boxes of jump intercessors so your running 10 dc and 10 jump. Instead of Lemartes buy atsorath, and get a jump captain.

Combat patrol for blood angels is a great flavored box compared to Dark angels. But If I ever did start a BA army, those Sang guard will be the front of the army and I WILL be 3d printing them new wings.
They arnt horrible, just I prefer the more gothic aesthetic of 40k than the tacticool :)

You know they literally don't sell any generic space marines data cards right? They made them for the index but not for the codex.
They did for a while (we have them, snazzy gold trim) but for some reason you can’t buy them from GW online anymore. 3rd parties and stores still have them.

Lol death company dread naught, sucks, take normal brutalis, you say to buy 3 boxes jump intersecors with lamartes and the brutalis, that's basically the other box set, and you get astorath plus upgrade spru, so 250 quid, plus dante another 28 plus the plasma flying things whole army for 330 ish, I'll see what costing you come up with, remeber mine is including upgrade spru and codex and new data cards
If you can get the BA box set then absolutely get that! It’s just limited edition so we don’t include them in case someone watches this in the future!
@@the_kieran_show ah cool I see, didnt thinking that as you mentioned at the start of the video that your recording before the release of the combat patrol so was assuming it's around a week or two after the death company box release and j know that gw has plenty of stock of that box, they love to fomo things recently, like the limited edition codex that have released another version of 🤣 also not mentioning it may cost your viewers alot more so even though they are so say limited editions, it could be worth mentioning them in the future as a another option available, I know it's been well received in the last with other content creators, hence my mention of it, appreciate your reply

This is a rough looking BA army gents. Drop the dreadnought, inceptors, eradicators and sanguinor for 2 gladiator lancers, 2 more boxes of jump intercessors so your running 10 dc and 10 jump. Instead of Lemartes buy atsorath, and get a jump captain.
This is also an option! Just didn’t want to put all the eggs in one basket so it had variety 😃
