Welcome back to our channel sweeties. This time, let me share to you another glimpse of the lifestyle of a Thai Chinese family. My husband belongs to this type of family. Although, his orientation is more on the Thai culture , he has to abide to the Chinese culture and tradition from his Dad's side as well. For this year's Ching Ming Festival, it falls on April 5. This time, we have to help the elders in doing the rituals at the cemetery since its difficult for them to travel because of the pandemic. There some rules to follow and we missed one of them since it is the first time that we are on our own. We forgot to put the chopsticks on the rice of bowl. But besides that, everything was don perfectly. The funny thing about this is that, I don't really understand what I was doing as well as the others, We just did what we are told to do.
But as for me, it was an amazing experience of acculturation. For me, I will never forget my own beliefs, culture and traditions while appreciating and respecting other's culture, traditions and beliefs.
