I did a different method around late 2019 that required save wizard and I was playing as Michael online instead of Franklin. I somehow never got wiped or reset, still have the billion in my account to this day.

iirc there was also a different way around it back then by using a broken savegame. you made it by saving the game during the mission replay of the mission "fresh meat" bc for some reason the game gives you around 20 seconds to run around before kicking you out of the mission replay. which is enough time to save the game. i don´t know how it was used, but i know it resulted in some money glitches
