Yes, I used Skil-saw cuts on my houses too. That's why the ducklings can climb easily up the inside front face, but can't get any traction on the sides or back.
I put saw cuts up the inside of the box about an 1/8th deep to assist them with climbing out. Some people staple plastic mesh but I find it gets ripped off. Great video btw
