Ty for th tips!! Im an 8 th grader whos never been on a team but im hoping to get on at least jv2 highschool team and in order to have a better shot i need a consistent overhand serve so tysm the vids have really helped me ❤❤
You have to make a strong hand contact and keep your eye on the ball! You get momentum from stepping into the ball and having a fast arm! It’s not all strength so don’t worry if you think you’re not strong enough. I have a video on how to serve i think, i wish i could link it but if you find it that will help you alot!
I made my teams volleyball team this week, my underhand serve is pretty consistent but I just can't make my overhand over the net. My coach says I need to slap it with my palm more and also follow through, but no matter what I do I just can't get it. Any tips?
Your coach is right! you need to make sure your hand is firm and your fingers are spread out. Imagine your giving the ball a high 5 but like aggressively haha.
Hi! I just watched ur video, and I have been practicing what you said too do. I'm still struggling though. My friend and coach are telling me to stop lowering my elbow when serving. My school tryouts are in 5 days and I am super I won't make the team because of my serve. Can you please make a video, A short, or respond to my comment about tips to stop lowering ur elbow? Tysm! Your so beautiful! 💗🏐🌟
thank you! okay, so the main way to fix this is through practice and repetition. so i would say that in your pre-serve routine, make sure your elbow is nice and high! once you serve the ball, hold your follow-through and look where your elbow is. Ask yourself if it is high or low. If it is low, you know you dropped it and need to try again. If it is high, you know that you did something right and you should continue practicing that movement.
@@dumbelaina aw, it was a good attempt though! maybe you could sign up for club volleyball? it’s pretty expensive but it’s fun. i also struggle with serving 😭😭
i’m still having struggle with getting it over the net i play on sand is it easier in court?? but idk why i just can’t get it over the net do you have anything that could help me a bit ik theres probably nothing but some tips if not then thank you for the video❤️ also i think i just don’t know how to hit it with enough power to go over the net and overthink it too
yes it is harder to get the ball over when playing sand because you don't get as high with your jump as you would playing indoor! i get so frustrated when i hit the ball in the net while playing beach but i realize that my contact point is much lower in the sand than on the court bc there is less resistance.
My form is perfect i have a fast swing im stepping into the ball my toss is good and my ball goes direct into the net it doesnt make it over, it goes where i want it to but it just wont make it over, any tips? 🥲
Tysm for this video I’ve been struggling with my overhand so hopefully this is helpful ❤️
thanks for watching!
