Kolkata/Siliguri vlog to onek achhe with clickbait titles/captions - 'train er thekeo fast', 'best route' etc. with a lot of gyan. But, tomader content is really special, something that I can relate to - especially the lively banter! Very original and heart warming.

My wife always asks me to show our original side.. Even in the Sanglaphu vlog, we could have edited out the Stuvan episode.. But, we chose to show it.. As influencers, I believe we carry a lot of responsibilities too.. To remain true to yourself is the biggest one !!
I've never been able to understand who is best served by creating these "speed governing" barricades and chicanes. These are slapdash put together with materials that are not meant to be on the road (broken guardrails, metal barrels, plastic jars and sometimes jute sacks) causing vehicles which are expecting a straight stretch to do sudden braking.
There have been no shortage of accidents at these barricades and even the "out of nowhere" speed breakers that are there on the NH.

Absolutely mindless positioning of Barricades at some places.. As if to say.. Let's see how you drift and exit!! After a point it becomes really frustrating to navigate through them.. And that's where the peril is
. I personally think long drives can become very tiring and menacing if you lose your mind!!

I drove on this road just a month ago after getting inspiration from people like you. From Vijayawada to Siliguri. Unfortunately it was evening when I crossed Krishnanagar. It looked like the entire population was on the highway plus those electric rickshaws that go at their own speed not letting anyone pass by. Lesson learnt. On the return leg, drove entirely in the night.

Rear seat comfort ektu compromised.. But driver seat e no issues.. Performance is adequate on highways but killer on off roads.. Mileage around 14.5 on highways.. And 11-12 in city traffic

Cruised at 90-110 ( depending on road conditions and traffic) and got around 14.5 kmpl..
Beautiful video. Congratulations for your efforts. How do you manage so much of energy? Maintaining your IT jobs and doing all these vlogging! Pls. Keep it up. But do you think that the rear seat of Jimny is comfortable enough for long drives? My experience is otherwise. Thigh support is very less. and one needs to keep the seat belts buckled in order to avoid beeps. Another point is lack of power. Both on highways and on steep hills. Speed warnings at 80 & 120 kmph (continuous) are very annoying. I found Jimny very good for city drives and off roads. It's small footprint certainly helps in cities and narrow mountain roads. Maruti has certainly not designed Jimny for highways. I own an Alpha automatic. I can't even think of taking my Jimny to Himachal/Uttarakhand/Ladakh because that would involve very long highway drives. I'm saying this from my own experience. Once you reach the hills, it's okay afterwards. But highway drive from Kolkata to Siliguri & back is not so comfortable for rear seat passengers. Maruti had a good opportunity to customize Jimny for Indian conditions. But they didn't (except for extending the wheelbase and killing the charm of its small size). It's getting reflected in very poor sales numbers. I won't be surprised if they withdraw Jimny from Indian market after some time. All the best to you again.

Now, regarding our Kinetrip .. I have asked Anindita many a number of times whether she is comfortable in the mini monster and every time the answer has been YES .. she sometimes does complains about the under thigh support(or the lack of it ) but to be honest , she is a very easy going person and she is okay with almost everything ( except for severe body roll making her puke ) .. Family comes first for me and the day I learn about a major difficulty that Ani is facing , i wont hesitate to sell this car off .. for now .. we three love our KINETRIP ..
Lack of power is noticeable on highways ( beyond 110 kmph) but that's because of the boxy frame .. It is not aerodynamic and it is not meant to be.. Offroads are where its actual charm is .. I would suggest shifting to 4H on mountains ... Power delivery in 4L is surreal ( especially low end torque) . Jimny is suited for sedate drivers .. and this i concur with you ..
I am definite of the fact that KINETRIP will take us to Himachal and UK in the coming months :)
@@triplecarry When I started long drives with my family across India (mostly northern part) almost 20 years back, it was very rare to find WB registered vehicles outside our state. Nowadays, thanks to people like you, vehicles with WB license plates are a common sight everywhere, especially in the Himalayas. Pls keep up the spirit and drive safely. I should not forget to mention and thank the tremendous initiative taken by the Govt. of India in modernizing and expanding road infrastructure in last 15 years or so.

Truely, the use of barricades in WB roads are a real pain. I can understand it might be useful in a few areas where naka checking is going on to reduce the speed. But placing on every crossing has no justification.
Even within the city in broad daylight in the presence of police why barricades are placed in every signal. Even though the signal is green there is an unnecessary chaos. We Kolkata people very well know have the private bus drive and speed up to overtake another bus of the same route. Need more thoughtful actions from the traffic police.

We just completed our North Bengal trip..while going we took the same route and infact took a tea break at the same place where u had your lunch break after crossing dalkhola..ur right, the drums and the barricades are a real pain to navigate along with the truck jams between Krishnanagar to behrampur bypass..

I am a brezza owner and i was too wishing to go by car to silliguri there,kindly help what you do when you are the only driver as one gets tired after few hours
I understand this concern and towards the end of the vlog i have a dedicated section ... where I take a power nap to beat the tiredness .. Like I always say , when we are hungry , we should eat .. similarly when we are sleepy , a power nap can work wonders .. Eats away the fatigue after a few good mins of sleep! Do watch that part of the vlog.. have mentioned about a few precautions about napping in a car !
Is there any driving lag in jimny?
If you are gearing it right, not quite... But if you are used to driving other cars..,there might be a small minor issue with power delivery ( reality vs expectations) .. I have trained myself to shift down and relax!! Every machine is built differently..
Four cylinder 1500cc car, and still have to downshift?
Do Suzuki cars have less torque?
I am used to driving diesel cars .. They have way more torque... So, the driving style had to be altered.. Etai ja
