Another winner Matt. Do you plan on getting the new Pi-Face add on board for the Raspberry Pi? I've just picked one up but there is very little info on how to get the most out of it.
Sometimes youtube fucks up and doesn't put number 2 in the suggestions list. Put the link in the description and a clickable annotation at the start and end of the video. I find that helps loads when I've uploaded some tuts. If you're looking for more ideas, some might be interfacing the RPi's GPIO with other random stuff, like keypads, multiplexers, IR transceivers, simple LIDAR/SONAR (If the SONAR that you have works!) etc. I hate it how the RPi doesn't have analog I/O capabilities though.
When I get my RPi and my crack load of arduino stuff for my birthday I'm going to make a security system using an ultrasound proximity sensor and the raspberry pi camera, and maybe a buzzer and a spotlight from maplins...

Thanks for doing all these videos :)
can you then use the serial readouts to do something within code written on your pi?
Excellent! Please do more of these :-)

Thank you, very useful
