For a while, I was confused as to why Pump corrupts instantly whereas Skid holds on for 3 songs, but I recently realised that it's perfectly accurate to spooky month lore. Skid is canonically much more resilient to supernatural stuff than Pump as seen in Spooky Month 2 where Skid is completely unaffected by Stars. Nice attention to detail
It’s scary knowing that the corruption is forcing Skid to do the spooky dance in the last song when before he wasn’t even wanting to do it unless his friend was back to normal.
I notice how the Boyfriend's parts in which it sings is easier to play than the Spooky Kid's part, which shows that the Boyfriend is literally overpowering them.

I feel so fricken bad for Skid- Despite Pump being corrupted, Skid still considered his best friend and stayed with him ’till the bitter end. That is what you really call a true best friend.
I love how the songs progress in this, reflecting Skid's corruption! The first song is just a remix of Spookeez. It's affected by Pump's corruption, but at its core it's the same, and the charting is unchanged. In the second song, which remixes South, however, the instrumental takes many more liberties, and the charting is changed to be harder. Finally, with Skid almost fully corrupted, the last song is completely original!
Probably the scariest part about this is that boyfriend had _less notes._ He's barely even trying to corrupt the spooky bois, and he's kicking their asses.

@@kinichqt skid isn’t actually a skeleton, because in the spooky month videos, you can see pictures on the wall in skid and lila’s home, and the kid is most likely skid.
This is really sad. You can see how there are tear marks coming out of pump’s eyes, and it seems he’s not in control of his body. And when skid is starting to get corrupted, you can see he’s terrified and has no clue what’s going on. He already lost his best friend, and now he’s going to lose himself. It also seems he wants to get off pump, but pump either isn’t letting him down or it’s the guilt of him leaving his best friend. And in the last phase, you can see how skid is doing the spooky dance, but before he wasn’t, so maybe the corruption is taking control over his body making him do the dance. It’s really sad.

While watching skid slowly tear up is sad Pumps refusal to turn on skid and is shown to actively be happy to have him around whether he’s corrupted or not shows how deep the spooky kids friendship runs Skid refused to leave his friends side even after what happened to him and pump despite becoming an infectious monster refusal to actively harm his friend is as cute as it is fucking heart wrenching

Pump honestly looks like he's just vibing. Looking at his expressions and how he looks at Skid it seems like he still loves his best friend. He doesn't come off as sinister or evil. I'd like to think that he's still the same, like still a total sweetheart.
I think the part that makes the corruption a little unsettling is the fact its staring at the player instead of the in-game characters its actually corrupting.
We not gonna talk about how was scared skid looks? He's scared of the corrupt pump but he still stayed with him bc he was his best friend. Cri skid being scared makes me sad
Guys, I have 2 things I saw. When the icon for CP & S (not at the final song icons) were at the far left, skid changed :( When bf makes a mistake, he reaches for us.
Even completely consumed by corruption, Pump continues to help Skid and assists in his songs, and Skid refuses to leave his friend's side, even as he's being consumed. If that's not friendship, what is?
Also skid stays with pump, pump doesn’t even dare to corrupt skid, making it look like his memory Brain cells weren’t killed, and in fact pump cries out blood through out skid’s infection

Pump and skid seem to have very unique eyes when there corrupted.The eyes seem to mirror what they will feel like when their corrupted.Skids eyes mirror what he feels like now he probably feels like he has been taken over and can't do anything but feel like he has been erased out of this world.But pumps eyes show he has fully been taken over and his soul is in his eyes.If you look at pumps eyes carefully you can see his eyes are like going to the pure abyss.
Some things I noticed: In phase one, Skid’s idle and right sprites show him smiling worriedly. This could be for a number of things, but I think it’s either him not fully understanding the true severity of the situation, or him still having hope that Pump is recoverable. In the second phase, you can clearly see in all the sprites that Skid is distressed. This phase is likely Skid realising how truly severe the situation is, and staring to panic. He’s realised his friend is gone, and that BF and GF aren’t themselves either. He’s realised he’s probably going to lose himself to the corruption, just as he let Pump lose himself to it. In all three phases, the down sprites look like Skid is trying to get down, but either Pump is physically holding him up, or his own guilt and sympathy won’t let him down. Either way, it’s obvious that a skid wants to leave the situation, but he just _cant_. Pump looks like he has tear stains. This could be a side-effect of the corruption, but neither BF or GF have that. Although, Pump and Skid’s corruptions seem to be different than the rest. It’s likely that Pump is also scared, and the small amount he might have left is desperately trying to escape. Going back to how they were corrupted, it may be a sign that Pump isn’t actually fully gone, and the kids can still be recovered. It most likely isn’t, but I’d like to think it is. As the songs progress, they become more corrupt. The kids’ voices become deeper and more distorted, and the music derives further from the original. The fact that we have an entirely new song could symbolise that this isn’t the same side, and that they are just completely gone. In the last phase, Skid is doing the spooky dance. This could show that Skid is so corrupted that he no longer has control over his own body, and is now forced to watch himself derealise, knowing that there’s nothing he can do about it. The fact that he’s still able to cry is interesting though. He still has some sort of control, even if it is very minimal. This means he still has a chance. In the first two phases, BF is looking at the camera, and therefore the player. He knows we are there, and he reaches out to us when we mess up. However, in the third phase, he’s looking at Skid and Pump. Throughout the week, GF still looks at us. I’m not sure what this could mean, but it could mean that BF is realising what he’s done, but GF is further gone that him, and doesn’t notice, or just doesn’t care. Skid’s corruption increases a lot more from phase two to three than it does from phase one to two. This means that the corruption is fuelled by fear. It might not be completely caused by fear, but it could act as a catalyst for the corruption. This would also explain why we see Pico’s corruption expand grow at a slower pace, because he had a cool head and could control himself. But Skid is a kid, and can’t regulate his emotions like Pico could, so he wasn’t able to slow the corruption. The guilt of knowing he could’ve stopped it could be catastrophic to his mental health, knowing he could’ve saved not only himself, but also Pump. This would also explain his sprites in the third phase. The other phases show him more reclusive, not wanting to expose himself, but the third phase has him moving a lot more. The up sprite has me the most interested. It could either be a sign of the corruption taking over, or that he is going insane even without the help of the corruption, because of what I said above. Also, the fact that he still has a down sprite in the same fashion as the other phases gives me hope. It shows that he can still take over, and he’s using that precious time to try to escape, presumably so he doesn’t lose himself and/or hurt others, but the corruption takes back over before he can do so. Also, why is BF’s voice still his regular voice? The spooky kids’ voices changed as they became more corrupted, so surely BF’s voice would be as distorted? I’m not sure what this could mean, but maybe BF is still there, and looking and reaching to the camera for help, rather than as a threat? That would also explain why he looks to the kids in the last phase. He loses himself more as the people around him corrupt. Maybe the corruption is a hive-mind type? I know that lemon demon is in the window, but I don’t know what it could mean. I’ll edit this if I find a theory I like. EDIT: something I didn’t notice, but other commenters did, was that BF’s part is easier than the kids’ part. I was too busy studying the frames that I didn’t notice. As those comments have said, it’s most likely the corruption making it easier for BF, but it could also be BF becoming weaker due to the corruption slowly killing him. Maybe he’s purposely trying to do bad, so that Skid and Pump can incorruptible, but the corruption ignores the missed notes and therefore BF’s efforts are turned against him. Overall, this week alone could have a lot of symbolism. I could be completely wrong with these theories, but this is what I gathered. If you have another theory, then I’d love to hear it! If you haven't noticed but the icons for skid and pump for each part changes. Part 1 : pump is looking at skid and skid is getting corupted a little Part 2 : skid has an X on the right side of his face Part 3 : skid's actually crying and is accepting defeat.
Headcanon: Because they're kids, they can't be completely corrupted individually. Then being both corrupted and melded together equals a whole corrupted person, which is why Skid rides on Pump. Pump is still conscious and is trying to save Skid by rapping with him.

This is really sad. You can see how there are tear marks coming out of pump’s eyes, and it seems he’s not in control of his body. And when skid is starting to get corrupted, you can see he’s terrified and has no clue what’s going on. He already lost his best friend, and now he’s going to lose himself. It also seems he wants to get off pump, but pump either isn’t letting him down or it’s the guilt of him leaving his best friend. And in the last phase, you can see how skid is doing the spooky dance, but before he wasn’t, so maybe the corruption is taking control over his body making him do the dance. It’s really sad.
Skid can't leave by the 2nd song because his legs got corrupted and are stuck to pump. In song 2 you see him try and wiggle out but just can't.

I just realized that the songs get more corrupted as Skid does as well. The first song is literally the same but with a few back-up instruments, the second song is changed quite a bit but you can still hear the resemblance, the third song however, there's nothing left. It's completely changed to a much more darker theme, much like Skid's body.
Going back to these classics after watching the newest installments, really bring joy and good memories to me
While watching skid slowly tear up is sad Pumps refusal to turn on skid and is shown to actively be happy to have him around whether he’s corrupted or not shows how deep the spooky kids friendship runs

Some things I noticed:
In phase one, Skid’s idle and right sprites show him smiling worriedly. This could be for a number of things, but I think it’s either him not fully understanding the true severity of the situation, or him still having hope that Pump is recoverable.
In the second phase, you can clearly see in all the sprites that Skid is distressed. This phase is likely Skid realising how truly severe the situation is, and staring to panic. He’s realised his friend is gone, and that BF and GF aren’t themselves either. He’s realised he’s probably going to lose himself to the corruption, just as he let Pump lose himself to it.
In all three phases, the down sprites look like Skid is trying to get down, but either Pump is physically holding him up, or his own guilt and sympathy won’t let him down. Either way, it’s obvious that a skid wants to leave the situation, but he just _cant_.
Pump looks like he has tear stains. This could be a side-effect of the corruption, but neither BF or GF have that. Although, Pump and Skid’s corruptions seem to be different than the rest. It’s likely that Pump is also scared, and the small amount he might have left is desperately trying to escape.
Going back to how they were corrupted, it may be a sign that Pump isn’t actually fully gone, and the kids can still be recovered. It most likely isn’t, but I’d like to think it is.
As the songs progress, they become more corrupt. The kids’ voices become deeper and more distorted, and the music derives further from the original. The fact that we have an entirely new song could symbolise that this isn’t the same side, and that they are just completely gone.
In the last phase, Skid is doing the spooky dance. This could show that Skid is so corrupted that he no longer has control over his own body, and is now forced to watch himself derealise, knowing that there’s nothing he can do about it. The fact that he’s still able to cry is interesting though. He still has some sort of control, even if it is very minimal. This means he still has a chance.
In the first two phases, BF is looking at the camera, and therefore the player. He knows we are there, and he reaches out to us when we mess up. However, in the third phase, he’s looking at Skid and Pump. Throughout the week, GF still looks at us. I’m not sure what this could mean, but it could mean that BF is realising what he’s done, but GF is further gone that him, and doesn’t notice, or just doesn’t care.
Skid’s corruption increases a lot more from phase two to three than it does from phase one to two. This means that the corruption is fuelled by fear. It might not be completely caused by fear, but it could act as a catalyst for the corruption. This would also explain why we see Pico’s corruption expand grow at a slower pace, because he had a cool head and could control himself. But Skid is a kid, and can’t regulate his emotions like Pico could, so he wasn’t able to slow the corruption. The guilt of knowing he could’ve stopped it could be catastrophic to his mental health, knowing he could’ve saved not only himself, but also Pump.
This would also explain his sprites in the third phase. The other phases show him more reclusive, not wanting to expose himself, but the third phase has him moving a lot more. The up sprite has me the most interested. It could either be a sign of the corruption taking over, or that he is going insane even without the help of the corruption, because of what I said above. Also, the fact that he still has a down sprite in the same fashion as the other phases gives me hope. It shows that he can still take over, and he’s using that precious time to try to escape, presumably so he doesn’t lose himself and/or hurt others, but the corruption takes back over before he can do so.
Also, why is BF’s voice still his regular voice? The spooky kids’ voices changed as they became more corrupted, so surely BF’s voice would be as distorted? I’m not sure what this could mean, but maybe BF is still there, and looking and reaching to the camera for help, rather than as a threat? That would also explain why he looks to the kids in the last phase. He loses himself more as the people around him corrupt. Maybe the corruption is a hive-mind type?
I know that lemon demon is in the window, but I don’t know what it could mean. I’ll edit this if I find a theory I like.
EDIT: something I didn’t notice, but other commenters did, was that BF’s part is easier than the kids’ part. I was too busy studying the frames that I didn’t notice. As those comments have said, it’s most likely the corruption making it easier for BF, but it could also be BF becoming weaker due to the corruption slowly killing him. Maybe he’s purposely trying to do bad, so that Skid and Pump can incorruptible, but the corruption ignores the missed notes and therefore BF’s efforts are turned against him.
Overall, this week alone could have a lot of symbolism. I could be completely wrong with these theories, but this is what I gathered. If you have another theory, then I’d love to hear it! Thank you for reading this far, and have a good day crying over some spooky month cartoon children!
