Ruan is a genius, so that’s already 60% of the way to crazy. She sees the world with a different view than other people & is hard to “get”. I’ve heard people classify her as “evil in making” because she supposedly wants to become an Aeon. But Aeons aren’t inherently evil. The Aeon Alivili was said to have not only walked with mortals, but adventured alongside and even fought alongside mortals. Seeking higher understanding is not an evil path, it’s the tools used that defines the intent. Also, totally not a wet cat.
Nothing to lose, nothing to gain, just going as far as possible. Not going to kid ourselves and fully trust her, but beneficial cooperation is still WHO AM I KIDDING? AEON ALL OVER ME BABY!
And let's not forget that she's already an Emanator.

After the Myriad Celestia trailer, you might have been thinking "I can fix her", but from her stern expression at 2:46 it looks like Ruan Mei is going to be doing the fixing around here. A hands-on job, even. I'm sure there will be plenty of volunteer test subjects.

I think this trailer is more of a trailer that shows Ruan Mei's personality and not her battle skills
There were a couple hints showing that she's got a bit of a....hidden mad side to her
For example, petting the giant but, the tubes with bugs inside them, showing that she's been experimenting with the swarm bugs.
Idk, I'm prob being a bit dumb, rambling...
It's just something that I've noticed...
She is Genius. Of course she is insane but she gonna be insane in my party

We Ruan Mei enjoyers have took a Big W once again with this trailer.
Her Facade only dropped at the last second. Mad scientist/sociopath, gonna be fun learning all about her. Double personalities is to be expected if she's anything like her persona in other games. That's my bet.
Now that I think about it, there is a chance that Ruan Mei would be an antagonist once the main story goes back to Herta's Space Station, she kinda has some motives that would require certain elements for her to sabotage.

Ruan Mei isn't really a powercreep to Bronya, they both hold a different value suited for different playstyles. If you're using hypercarries, Bronya is still the girl for the job when it comes to support but if you prefer a Break Effect or DoT playstyle then you'd love Ruan Mei.
add the double dps archetype into ruan mei's list too, she'll make those kinds of teams work since her buffs are teamwide and not single target specific.
There was a great discussion about this with Mr. Pokke and GachaSmack. Pokke says Bronya is still better in HyperCarry while GachaSmack believes RuanMei will powercreep every Harmony character because of the All-type Damage PEN and even showed the numbers for it. We'll see it a day.
This is true from beginning . Communities already expect this . Defensive sustainer will get powercrept quickly like Luocha or HuoHuo VS Bailu & Fu Xuan VS Gepard .
But Gepard is still useful for character like Yanqin & Arlan . Meanwhile I don't see that Bailu is any better than Luocha in any team
Offensive support like Bronya will take longer & harder to get powercrept even we got 2 limited Harmony
Ruan Mei opens a new path of Break gameplay. She's not gonna powercreep Bronya, we have Hanabi for that role

I was planning on saving my Jades for Acheron whenever she comes out, but after watching both of Ruan Mei's trailer I knew I had to pull
Acheron might be 2.1 or 2.2 more likely, so there's time to save for an least a fully kited Acheron and maybe an eidolon or 2. I'm SO excited for her
Two things came to mind when watching the trailer, one for some reason the music reminded me of liyue's music don't know why, second thing, so we know ruan mei wants to create or become an aeon from her myriad celestia trailer but the question is an aeon of what, life maybe cause of her focus on biology possible but i have different hypothesis. So we know that in 1.6 ruan mei is experimenting on the swarm and ruan mei is also one of the creators of the simulated universe, which was used to research the swarm. What if Ruan Mei goal is to become the new aeon of propagation and that's why she is learning about the swarm. People might say the next simulated universe update revolving about Nous the aeon of Erudition might disapprove this but on the contrary it might help it, after all Nous is currently (as far as i know) the only man-made aeon so she would have definitely have an interest in Nous .
My guarantee is going to blast through me! Ruan Mei can ruin all of us!

These trailers are great and make me understand more why I'm underwhelmed with her in battle storytelling. In game you just get "Ruan Mei is pretty and she likes her instrument", you don't get the mad scientist vibe at all. Other characters do have story telling in their kit presentation like Huohuo getting possessed, Kafka seems like a terrorist, SW is a gamer/hacker, Jing Yuan is a general, Topaz likes money, etc. Ruan Mei needed an element of horror to show she is more than just a pretty lady, but also a mad scientist.
Fr! Her myriad celestia is my fav one so far + this trailer also shows her very well. I seriously don't understand why her gameplay is so dull

I disagree with the “trailer didn’t go hard” thing. It wasn’t as lighthearted and fun as the last three (Topaz, Huohuo, Argenti), yes, but it plays a much more important role in displaying her elegance and her true colors.
The fact that it showed the massive Swarm Emanator (I forgot its name), the giant mindless destructive breeding machine, suddenly acting docile towards its “creator” works absolute wonders for what the trailer is trying to enforce. It enforces that this is someone not to be messed with, a character that has a very cunning side to her.
The reason the Luofu trailers weren’t very good is because there wasn’t a clear vision. You don’t really have an idea as to what you’re being sold on, and so you have no reason to care. DHIL’s trailer told me nothing. Fu Xuan’s trailer told me nothing. Jingliu’s trailer told me a little something but not much. Then came the more lighthearted characters, where I could see what I was being sold on. Topaz, for her fun yet reliable businesswoman character and cute interactions with Numby, Huohuo, for her interactions with Tail, and Argenti, for his knightly aesthetic and eccentric personality. I could clearly see the message they were trying to send, which is why they were better than the past ones. And I see the message here too. An elegant mask hiding a manipulative mad scientist.
It may not be to some people’s tastes, and I get that. Fun characters are… well, fun, and to each is their own. But her trailer succeeds where the Luofu trailers did not, and that is making me care.

True, even so the only trailer I liked about Luofu was Blade's, and Jingliu's didn't seem that bad either, but Blade is my favorite along with Kafka's.
@@RoverWW Agreed. That’s because Blade’s trailer sold us something. It told us how badass he is, how he always comes back after death, and about his hunt for Dan Heng. It was cool and it served its purpose well.
Jingliu’s was also pretty good. Definitely better than DHIL and Fu Xuan but… idk. Like I said, it told me a little something but not enough. It lacked substance. Wasn’t too bad, wasn’t too good.

I genuinely hold the belief that Fu Xuan was done dirty in her own trailer. They could've showcased the true capabilities of her power which is to predict the future because it's what makes her a mysterious yet tragic character yet her trailer pretty much tells nothing about Fu Xuan other than she is the Diviner of the Luofu and being Qingque's boss at that.

Bronya Meta for 1 DPS Hyper Carry, Ruan Mei Meta for 2 DPS comps. But, Ruam Mei will be second best for Hyper Carry, so she has a lot of value even though Bronya is still the strongest support for single DPS comps. Both are great.

@@fluffymuffin9089 Yeah, by a landslide. She boosts Jingliu's DPS by 140%ish due to doubling her turn count and buffing her for example. It's really just common sense. Doubling turns is just a straight up double increase in ouput and then when you factor in buffs it goes even further. Generic buffs just can't compete with that in a single DPS context.
So, yeah, Ruan Mei isn't touching that in a single DPS hypercarry comp since the benefit of buffing the whole team goes down harshly when you only have 1 actual damage dealer which is what a hypercarry comp is centered on.
Ruan Mei is a solid second option though due to high uptime on the buffs she does have, but where she will truly shine is in duo DPS comps where both DPS will benefit from her team buffs. Having 2 DPS also aids in breaking fast which synergizes with her 50% break efficiency. So, she will be the Bronya of duo DPS comps and bring them to a much better place than where they are now. Very valuable.

She's not gonna powercreep Bronya. I honestly don't know where this notion even came from in the community. If there's any unit she'll powercreep directly it'd be Pela since that's the spot she'll take in like, a hypercarry Jingliu team as a penacony + amp support.
Bronya still fills a role as the only 100% action advancer in the game that can also advance her own action while being SP positive. If you don't know what that means, it means she allows SP-hungry characters like Qingque and Imbibitor Lunae to run ATK% boots while Bronya is 146+ SPD, so she can normal attack, advance herself directly behind them, let them take their turn, then advance their turn once more. Qingque and DHIL also have absurd dmg% multiplier, which means running ATK% boots would boost their damage output significantly as well.
Also there's the small fact that the endgame content requires 2 teams and Bronya casually fits on every single comp in the game.
She’s not really gonna powercreep her, they’re pretty much on the same level, but ruan mei makes some stuff more comfortable. For me she can maximize jingliu’s overall damage, since with bronya she loses the buff on one skill in transcended state, while ruan mei’s field is always there. The 100% action advance is really valuable for 0 cycles, but if you don’t care about that it doesn’t mean much. Especially considering that ruan mei gives spd, so if you can get spd in subs, you could still run atk% boots

She certainly has a sinister vibe to her thoughts but between the last 2 trailers she's gone from a character I wasn't very interested in to one of the most interesting personality wise.
I'm very curious on what side she's going to fall: antagonist or Allie. She could be both but I'm afraid to be on her bad side regardless.
I like how Mina was honest about it. I also think she's pretty, but aside from the music which was great I thought the trailer was underwhelming.

I kept my expectations low because we already got the amazing myriad celestial trailer, but was still surprised. Her trailer seemed high-budget - same as Kafka, Blade, and Argenti.
Still, her previous trailer is better.
