- The Run King - conociendo a la campeona de ultramaratones, Lorena Ramirez y familia Ramirez, en Sacramento, California. Muchisimas gracias a la familia Ramires por la invitacion y oportunidad de correr y pasar un rato muy agradable con ustedes despues de su competencia. Aqui esta lo que documente durante esos dias.
After seeing the Raramuri runners cross the finish line at the California International Marathon, we got to spend some time and run together with them. We got to run with ultramarathon champion Lorena Ramirez and her family throughout the Sacramento and Fair Oaks area. We learned a lot about their culture and language. Here is a part of what I was able to document during those days.

I always wonder if all the barefoot movement is bullshit. I am part of it but you always see Raramuris wearing thick not zero drop shoes when running out of their town. What's up with that?
It was really cold this morning and it had rained heavily the night before. I drove them to Fleet Feet and they bought zero drop shoes there one day (Altras). I think they wear whatever they can afford or whatever they're in the mood for
@@Therunking yes that's what I've come to see. They are less of a barefoot purist than most of the barefooters from the modern world 😂 they just run! What I don't understand is why they don't get injured when using those high drop shoes
Oh and Altras may be zero drop but they are as barefoot as asics 😂 so yes, really interesting how documentaries make them look like mythical creatures that use nothing but thin huaraches or their bare feet and that's just not the case
@@Ferbocarbo The footwear doesn't take away from who they are, though. They are also the few native Americans who were untouched by Europeans and their language is awesome. I recommend you read "Born to Run" so you can get more information on their lifestyle. Here is also a documentary so you can get an idea as to why they don't get hurt when wearing Hokas, Altras, or whatever. No seamos egoístas amigo al contrario felices porque por fin esas etnias que por muchos años an permanecido suprimidas por el racismo y discriminación están siendo liberadas y mostradas no nada más a todo México y latino américa si no que por todo el globo eso no cualquiera lo hace.
