This uk trip is actually one where I’m pretty consistently following along with the channel & every upload. Interesting to see the differences in perspective & food
For the record, we don’t always call chips by that name. When they’re cut like that, in a more traditional “French fry” shape, more often than not we *do* refer to them as fries. Chips tend to be the thicker cut ones.
For me theyre justtt a little too thick to be fries but yeah same thing, thicker ones are chips thin ones like mcdonalds are fries it just makes sense :D edit actually his do look a little thin but when I had dominos "fries" they just remined me of generic oven chips

@@ElPigeonMan Plus, what's great about local places usually is that you can order a really large pizza (called party pizzas) for like 20 - 25 bucks. So it's perfect if you live with more than 2 people. Even just 2 people cause then you have leftovers for the next day. The pizza is not only better but it's also cheaper and feeds more than 1 person.

Wedges are good but should defo try the cookies, a bbq base pizza and sundried tomato sauce base if he can get it and should try added herbs to a pizza

If you ask after paying usually they don’t make you pay again. Only on the app do you need to app and it’s like 5p per dip except the chicken select ones.
You're right about the popularity of Indian food in the UK. My friend that lives in Kent says he eats curry over there as often as I eat Mexican food here in L.A. The pizza you ordered looks pretty decent, but when I order pizza I typically order from local mom-and-pop pizzerias rather than chains like Dominos. I like to support small local businesses, plus the pizza is usually better.
It’s all about the garlic and herb. I used to pick up my Papa Johns pizza then drive to dominos to get a bunch of those dips. Papa Johns garlic is good too though.
You mentioned about the chicken strippers, it comes in chilled and is stored in the chiller but it just goes into a tray and put through the same rolling oven as everything else. Same with the kickers and the wings.
the cookies at dominoes are really good, pretty sure they dont have them in america, not sure about korea tho, should definitely try them. also, dominoes wedges are better than the basic chips.
Homeslice Neals Yard Pizza is the best especially the salami, rocket and parmesan. Their whole pizza menu includes lamb, sausage and chorizo pizzas. You can also get individual pizza 🍕 slices margherita, mushroom or salami slices. They also do slides garlic bread with mozzarella, very tasty and so much better than Domino's.
In major UK cities, especially London, a lot of places only deal in halal meats so they can have an entire "halal kitchen", which means the meats are beef or turkey versions of what you'd expect to be pork. So it's beef pepperoni, beef sausages, turkey bacon, and sometimes plant based versions of meat as well. They'll use the same herbs and spices to create a similar flavour profile, but it's different overall.
It's gotten more expensive in the past years here, but I keep hearing how bad Domino's is in the US, and I always wonder how different it is from the US and the UK.
if you know how to rinse the Dominoes deals and codes its pretty cheap. Taking advantage of the lunchtime and collecting i can get 6 personal pizzas and 1 large pizza for just over £20. Dominoes heats up well too so its still good hours later or even next day. Never pay the full price for dominoes. Also the US is pretty much the same as the UK in terms of how the pizzas taste maybe minus the actual topping differences
@@xbdgames6355That's still really expensive for a pizza. I don't know about your area, but where I am, you can get a lot of REALLY good pizza for £8 - 12 only. We have a Dominos, but most people don't go because they can get a better deal and a better experience elsewhere.
I mean, UK Dominos is also dreadful. I have no idea why so many people stan for it. There are better chains, and if you have independent pizza places nearby then go there instead. Few Italian places near me do next-level pies.
I tried dominos in New York and it had a very strong garlic flavour. I was waiting in my hotel lobby for the delivery guy and the garlic smell hit me as soon as he walked in. Me and my wife were both disappointed in the pizza in New York. Tried loads of places, most are too greasy.
While still in the UK you should try the following London food. 1 - Pie n mash from a proper pie n mash stop. 2 - Seafood from a van. Eg cockles, welks, muscles, prawns and definitely not forgetting jellied eals. They're real East End of London food. Most likely not found anywhere else in the world.
As someone who ‘knows someone who works for Domino’s’, I can tell you the fries & wedges are literally from McCain. And yes, the chicken isn’t fried, goes from freezer to oven😂
Wasn’t there a moment years ago where a Domino’s employee was seen buying bags of frozen wedges from Asda or something? 😂 ever since then I’ve refused to buy any sides.
I'd be interested to see you try some desserts that originate from the UK. Spotted dick, apple pie, arctic roll, bakewell tart, bread and butter pudding, carrot cake, eton mess, flapjack, rice pudding, swiss roll, victoria sponge, etc.
Flapjack is more of a snack than dessert and I’m not sure it originates from the uk but should definitely try sticky toffee pudding with single cream or ice cream, Cranachan, Scottish tablet (tho more of a sweet treat than dessert or pudding) Victoria sponge, scones and tiffin (all good with afternoon tea) jam roly poly with custard or ice cream, rubarb crumble with single cream or custard, treacle tart or pudding, cornflake or Rice Krispie cake (more of a snack or children dessert) and trifle are also popular British desserts and sweet treats
I must admit, I have not been to Dominos for a while, so I don't know if things have changed, but at one time they did offer Frank's Hot Sauce, in those dip containers for the chicken.
Ben, please please please rate and review some local food. There are so many great restaurants and takeaways that offer delicious food but all I've seen on the trip is chain restaurants which is really disappointing. As a Scot, I will of course be giving haggis a big shout out but honestly, even just some nice pub grub if you don't fancy the true British foods.
I like garlic and herb or even garlic mayo here is like what ranch is over in the states, not by taste but the obsession of it haha. Sad you didn't grab the cheeseburger pizza but no stress. If you do try pizza hut over here, I'd recommend the new mac pizza 😍. Also dominos used to do bee sting twisted dough balls and they had red chillies in and smothered in honey. Those were elite! Also marinara sauce isn't a thing with dominos. But papa johns do it, when you order garlic sticks
I believe you are correct on your comment about the juices mixing into the pepperoni.. because those other meats they put on it does shoot its juices out when being cooked.
This is your third video I have watched and wow you really are enjoying our uk food. The best pizza is from pizza hut for it is more crispy and tasty than domino's pizza
I wish the UK did blue cheese sauce, that sounds amazing! Garlic and herb is my go-to but I'd totally get a blue cheese if that was an option. Strange as blue cheese (stilton) is a big thing in the UK.
If you buy potato wedges from dominoes in my area, you get about 7 wedges. And that's in a family size meal. They've even been seen buying the wedgy's fron a cheap supermarket(icelands) for £1 ,that'll give them lots of portion.
The reason the peperoni taste different is because in the UK its literally just peperoni but in the US they add a ton of other ingredients into its peperoni including flavourings, same as the cheese, UK dominos uses 100% mozzarella but the US uses a mix cheese
I suggest you do like a post review update when you visit a different region, like a summary video of how you felt about the different foods in retrospect, also maybe how your body felt hours later etc, cos for me I feel pretty bad after eating dominos for example, dunno if it's the same outside UK
