WOO! Another juicy packing orders video. This one is coming a smidge late since I'm just coming back from vacation. Thank you to everyone who came through and bought a calendar! Like I said, if you missed out I will have around 25 to 30 calendars up for grabs in a future shop update. I'll announce a date in a week or two since I'm still deciding if I want to do it in December or not. (It's looking like no, since I need to take some more time to rest and chill before the new year)
I also apologize to everyone who still wants one but wasn't able to get their hands on one - I think if I had an assistant or just someone who came by to help me with the shop I would totally try to do another restock, but being a one person business is really hard and I think doing another restock would just be wayyy too much for me to manage. Megan! as someone who also has the glaze issue going on, I found that asking the person who loads the kiln to look and see if there is a better place in the kiln to fire your piece helps. Sometimes the placement of the piece in the kiln affects the color and cracking in the glazes. Maybe talk to the studio technician and they can help you with that! I wish you the best of luck in your ceramics journey!

For the glaze, I would test the glaze layering on square tiles first so you don’t waste the bowls and cups! Can’t wait to see how you solve your ceramic problem 😊

Hoi Megan :P so happy the calendars took off! I will say maybe a precaution for all the upcoming cal shipments is a do not bend sticker/stamp just bc mine was hotdogged in my mailbox and it messed up the wiring and bent all the pages😭💔I know it’s not ur fault at all but I just don’t want anyone else’s to get smooshed like that. I still love it so much and so excited to use it!!

Hi! not sure how you do your ceramics but i always put my underglaze on before i bisque fire the pieces. This may help with the smudging! it also may not help lol ceramics are really hard! i use Amaco velvet underglaze

cone 10 redux is just like that ;-; good luck on your experiments!! i gave up on trying to replicate midfire oxidation and just embraced the redux qualities! maybe u could try more simple designs w/ wax resist & dipping in studio glazes? e.g. one dip. wax resist a design. second dip. orr if u are really chasing vibrant colors & crisp design/control.. assuming the studio uses electric kilns for bisque, i’d see if you can buy(?) a firing & fire your own glaze kiln at cone 5-6 :-) firings are surprisingly easy, if it’s not a super old kiln w/ a kiln sitter!! you’d have to switch clay bodies but the colors are worth it!!!!! ok anyways thanks for sharing your making w/ us, it’s always so fun to watch ^-^
also if u choose wax resist route, i’d actually recommend shellac bc that stuff is Strong & gives way more control imo
