I have only made these once when I first married my Belizean hubby. He wasn't a very good teacher. I will follow your version and try them again. Thank you for all you do and share about the Belizean foods and culture.
Hi, I am a Belizean who now lives in NC with my wife, two kids, and mother-in-law. Because I had so many sisters, mother and aunts in the house while growing up through Petticoat Alley in Belize City I never needed (or cared) to learn how to cook. However, I watch your show often because you and Joe (my name also) make it so pleasant to watch. Hopefully one day I get to meet you guys. You both appear to be "real" and down to earth. Besides the nice cooking I am sure it would be fun to hang out with you guys! Keep up the great work and let me wish both of you many more wonderful years together. It must be the Joes because your Joe is funny like me and seems to speak his mind too. Definitely a plus in my book! O)
Hey Joe, thanks for the uplifting words man. I've been going through a little bit of feeling a type a way and uninspired, but you lifted me up today. Joe and and I are WYSIWYG What You See Is What You Get. Hope to meet you one day too.
You got me hungry while watching so my husband helped me make some. They turned out great. We made the masa from scratch and used Tuna. The relish with onion and jalapeño and we used lime and water since we do not eat vinegar. Thank you!
love panades and will try for sure. The ones in Belize quite different from Costa Rica, you get a lot of masa her and they are big and bulky. Its like one is an order. Like the ones back home better.
Why would anyone get mad at mixing corn masa with flour? My favorite tirillas we're done my grandma would make by mi I got corn masa and flour...sooooo delicious!
I want to commend you for setting up shop in your kitchen complete with lighting to make your very own RUclips channel and share your recipes and tips. I also want to commend you and your hubby on 31 yrs of marriage and y'all still seem happy. I would have done bit my husband's neck off about camera angles and silly whatnots. Thank you Mr. Bare pantry for being a good sport and kudos to you ma'am for your entrepreneurship. Your amazing! Girl power!
The I have of masa flour is Maseca. Great video Babs. Looking forward to making these Panades :) Forgot to mention, could you please send me your dads store website. Running low on Marie sharps & Recardo.

Lol...@20:40 the taster had food falling out of his mouth as you were scolding him about his tasting etiquette.
How do you make your crust crispy and crunchy when your fry the empanadas. I lived in the island of Guam and we cook something similar.
Suggestion ma'am: Instead of adding flour use the dry masa de harina. Blessings.

marie Savino i
usually the masa you make(the dry flour masa) tastes better when you add broth and fat in it with seasoning.
What broth and fat means?
I love your earrings
i cannot with the flour added to the corn :( my family has always just made our own masa from the masa harina , comes out a lot better that way
What are the ingredients
