CC's solo for life goes on is one of the most prolific mesmerizing emotional solos of all time in my view....

I told my mom COME HERE COME HERE and I played the solo for her on the CD then I played the solo RIGHT ALONG with the CD my mom said VERY GOOD SON NOW GO BACK TO BED ITS 3 O CLOCK IN THE FUCKING MORNING

CC Deville’s solo for ‘Nothin’ but a good time’ is what got me into Metal. Hair Metal was on the wane at the time, but it opened my eyes up to a new world of music. I learned to play guitar and moved on to heavier stuff i.e. Sepultura, Megadeth, Annihilator, Death...and so on. Without doubt CC Deville was my first step on a fantastic(continuing) Metal journey. Forever grateful🇮🇪🤘🏻💀

Not sure I agree he was a bigger star or key member than Bret. Bret's incredible stage charisma is every bit as key as CC's guitar playing. Hopefully we would agree Bret is the sizzle, CC is the steak. Both important.

Me too, in a way. CC was such a hero, I hate revisionist "cool kid" history. As a 6 year old kid, I was jamming my older brother's cassettes and air guitaring to Poison. Because it was great. Nothing to do with what they looked like, it was guitar rock.

I met CC on the Ratt tour and he was really cool he talked to me and my friend about guitar stuff and told what pick ups to use and he also told us that he writes a lot of music but they split it 4 ways less fighting that way

Liked the flamenco solo at the beginning of the video. With regards to that song C.C. recorded for the Son In Law soundtrack, are you sure that was Kelly Hansen on vocals? I thought it was Spike from The London Quireboys. Anyway, it was C.C. who rekindled my interest in playing guitar and Poison that got me into hard rock and heavy metal -- true story. A cassette copy of Open Up And Say Ahh was the first album I ever bought, and I haven't been the same since! LOL!

CC Deville is WAY under-rated. He got stuck in the Glam genre, and never got a chance to showcase his blues rock style.

@@roosterj2599 Exactly. Tracii Guns once talked about him and said CC is better than people give him credit for. I would go out there when CC was sound checking and playing this incredible stuff and one time I asked him.. Why don't you play stuff like that live? And he replied, "Nah Poison fans don't want hear that". I think he's wrong now, back then I'm sure he was probably right, but I mean look at this stadium tour right now his short solo spot is mostly Randy Rhoads & EVH stuff and the crowd is going crazy for it. I think the fans are ready to hear what CC is really about and capable of.

CC's BC Rich collection in the Look what the cat dragged In era was nothing less than amazing. He had every color of every model I swear! I would kill for a couple hours with that collection. I'd try to play all of them. Lol! I owned 3 USA BC Rich guitars in the late 80s. A black Warlock with blood runs, solid black Bitch and a Gunslinger with a skull and crossbones. High quality and sounded amazing. The ones that got away. Ugh

C.C. is a bit like a hair metal guitar savant. The stuff he does off the top of his head gives away his genius when you go back and review it. The tell is in understanding the difference between the explicit and implicit. There are probably many guys with better technique, but that's the product of slavishly practicing. The measure of his brilliance is in his creativity and fearless approach in the moment. His reckless abandon. Watch the live stuff. He is really like a bit of a wunderkind trying to cure his own boredom. This no doubt drives people like Brett Michaels crazy, who focus on having the details nailed down, and who prefer certainty over risk in a performance. The upshot of that might be that Bobby and Ricky were a rock solid rhythm section that provided a foundation for someone like CC to be able to go off like a loose cannon and still have a solid place to land.

C.C. not only used DM strings but he also used G.H.S strings & his guitar collection number count that he owns is 275 guitars which also range from B.C.RICH, GIBSON, FENDER, JACKSON, YAMAHA, IBANEZ & G.M.P.

I never understood why CC got the wrap of being a crappy guitar player back in the day (this is back in the 80's) I thought he was pretty good.
That said I guess most of Poison is considered crap by today's critics (because they're stupid) . It was feel good music, and served it's place at the time. Aside from that, Fallen Angel and Something to Believe In stood out to me. Good songs.
