Pile 2. This is pretty much exactly how the last few weeks of my life have played out. After taking a full year to both get over my ex who I adored wholeheartedly and fully detach from the ex friend at the heart of the conflict that pushed us to split up in the first place, my relationship with my best friend recently got more and more flirtatious to the point that one of our mutual friends was commenting on how cute we are. Pile 2. This is pretty much exactly how the last few weeks of my life have played out. After taking a full year to both get over my ex who I adored wholeheartedly and fully detach from the ex friend at the heart of the conflict that pushed us to split up in the first place, my relationship with my best friend recently got more and more flirtatious to the point that one of our mutual friends was commenting on how cute we are. When my best friend (who I'll be mixing and matching pronouns for because they're genderfluid) spelled out for me in no uncertain terms that they've pretty much had feelings for me since the first time we met, I remembered that I had feelings for him that I've suppressed at least twice-once back when we still didn't know each other that well, and again when I learned she was engaged. Her wife did recently give the okay for us to be together (and it happened in the most chaotic way possible), so that part is no longer an issue, but the night before, when I confessed I had some feelings for him, I talked about how I've had people tell me outright that they're interested only for them to never talk to me again or to later learn they were lying. He kinda had to remind me he's not that kind of person and neither of us is in high school anymore, but even to this day, my anxious mind thinks sometimes that there's no way they're this relentlessly charming to me without some kind of catch. I'm taking this reading as a reminder that my now partner has never given me reason, especially because my new partner is Norse pagan, specifically a follower of Fenrir and Loki.
