People are obsessed with Mercedes and Ferrari yet they forget about midfield teams except for Sauber
Shameful absolutely shameful
Number 3 was literally perfect. I know it was with DRS and stuff but man... that took some serious 'things between his legs'. No lift going through a (slight) turn with half a wheel on the grass at 300+kph. Then braking late and forcing Lewis to the outside while waiting ages before turning in, to give Lewis no chance at a good exit...
Actually the squeezing back over at the end is unnecessary, it shows Vettel cares more about making a point to his rival than getting the job done safely.
It's this kind of track entitlement that leads to moments like Singapore 17 where he caused an accident that didn't need to happen because he feels he has the right to swerve across the track when he's making a bad start.
Dont play games in the braking zone, just keep your line straight and get the job done
@@cdname47 The squeeze was perfect, and necessary in race craft to make sure your opponent doesn't get a good run on you out of the exit. I see you like Motorsport, so you should know that almost all great drivers would squeeze their opponent wide, Lewis even knew Vettel would do this (just as he would). I have never taken part in a race where an opponent has not tried to squeeze me off line at some point (normally multiple times in a race). Rubbing is Racing, sometimes accidents happen, go watch every great drivers highlights reel and it will have this all through it. GREAT MOVE FULL STOP!

@@cdname47 He didn't squeeze Hamilton to the outside to "make a point on his rival", not at all. Turn 3 in Austria just goes upwards and the sharper you turn around the kerb the more likely you are to lose traction on the rear. So for a good exit you want to turn in late and go straight out of the corner. Hamilton had enough space.

Leclercs Moves against Magnussen in Russia and Perez and Hulkenberg in Japan were pretty nice. Number 1 was also my favorit.
Can’t believe Vettel’s overtake on Hamilton at Spa isn’t on the list. That was the best of this season imo.
Sorry but the overtaking from kimi on lewis in italy, where he got the first place back, was MUCH better than hamiltons on kimi. Because with kimi overtaking hamilton their tire age was the same. When hamilton overtook kimi, kimis tires where destroyed already. Additionaly the reaction of the italien fans made the kimi move on lewis even more special
The italian fans really didnt deserve a home win after everything they did on this weekend especially the racist comments they've made about Lewis. Not gonna lie it felt great to break their hearts.

That's true but well 50% of this top 10 was overtakes that happen in the past or it was a DRS overtake
Bink de Jong Kimi kinda let him through to avoid a Sainz/Grosjean crash.
Also missing HAM on VET in Russia and few more but ok,this 10 was also really good ones
For me that maneuver was one of best for last ten years, i wasnt Maxs fan before at all.....

Although being a Vettel fan, I literally smiled when ricciardo’s overtake came in the first place. Pure talent he is. Hopefully next year should be a better beginning for him.

It’s because Max is seen as a threat and from Holland so those salty English fans try to ignore him as much as possible, while real experts dare to compare him with Senna and state that He’s the biggest talent out there. Its also not so difficult so see this as he’s making F1 entertaining again.

Lewis in Bahrain was best, and he also passed Seb in Sochi and got past Raikkonen at Monza, Lewis deserved the 2018 world championship

Verstappen on Raikkonen in British GP was cool, Lewis overtake in Bahrain was good, but the opponents had a bad car, so it doesn't deserve to win, my favorite is Sebastian on Bottas in British GP, and Hamilton on Vettel in Russia was cool too.
Both overtakes in Bahrain and Monza didn't take a lot skill/bravery. He just did a good job keeping it clean and that's it. Bahrain just looks spectacular with four cars and these sparks, but i have no idea why Monza is in the list at all. Kimi had horrible tyres as well...
@@peterlustig3175 HAM vs RAI in Monza is the same that VET vs BOT in Silverstone, so I don't see why you say that. And in Silverstone Ferrari was better than Mercedes, that plus Bottas' tyres were really fucked up tells that Bottas didn't mean any problem to Vettel.

That tripple overtake by lewis is nice obviously has the fastest car but what i love about it si that 1 shot with all 4 cars facing the camere with all the sparks. And at night. Really beautifull.

Gotta survive the Winter break
I recently watched a 'season in review' piece and came away with a few thoughts around various races, driver issues & incidents, personnel changes etc.
Sat above them all was the quite compelling notion that Lewis, based on his 2018 season alone, could realistically keep winning & winning until he decides to stop. Nobody has a perfect race, much less a perfect season. Lewis's season was a fairly solid approximation, though.
If you were to choose one 'moment' in Lewis's year that served as a kind of distillation or microcosm of his season, there are several to choose from. It's hard to go past his pole lap in Singapore, but his 14th to 1st at Hockenheim sums it up, really.

You can't _deny_ a driver pulling off a nice overtake, but it's worthwhile remembering one of the things we all take with us through a season. Namely, that some cars are significantly better than others.
I think we all knew what was going to be number one. What a crazy race that was.

Chicote 2.0, if Daniel's so great at overtaking, why are none of his back of the grid drives as impressive as Verstappen's? You can bet Max is top 6 within 10 laps by pure speed. Ricciardo always takes much longer. Verstappen's moves are way more unpredictable, and sometimes can result in a crash.
Ricciardo is way more predictable, you know he'll wait for a straight and send it from deep, or dummy you into defending the wrong side. Meanwhile, Max'll send it around the outside, inside, divebombs, does it in slow turns, fast turns etc. His unpredictability is the reason he overtakes faster than Ricciardo, because it's difficult to defend against a guy that can and will overtake almost anywhere on track.
What’s insane about ricciardos is that it wasn’t even along a super long straight, so it wasn’t close to an ideal braking zone to overtake because they were moving relatively slow for any out braking but he managed it from a few car lengths back
