I'd say anybody would be wary of the poster boys, plot armored Space Marines. Look at Malum Caedo, he slayed 6 greater daemons and a Thousand Sons Sorcerer. Look at Titus, Cato Sicarius, Marneus Calgar....who would not be scared. And also add their insane numbers counting at least 130000 marines between Ultramarines and successor chapters.

The DA weren’t large at all. As per Dreadwing, the Lion has less than 45k under him by the time of the siege. The WB didn’t lose 100k around Ultramar. Nuceria wasn’t a daemon world and the DA blew that one up too. You get the name of Horus’ ship wrong as well.

Chaos forces wouldn't even get near the Custodes and Sisters of Silence. Ultramarines were the best at flexibility and the best in logistics, not to mention Ultramar was an Empire in itself. If Ultramar itself, the 1st Legion, and Wolves had been there, Chaos was already screwed from the beginning. Sure, the loyalists will still take a lot of casualties, but Chaos would lose the battle of time and attrition.
That isn't what the lore says. He was the Emperor's first creation in the primarch project. He was the first made and the testbed in which all of the others would follow. That is why he is the second best at most everything. The 1st legion had the same disposition.

No Ultramarines literally fought of the remaining traitors whereas the other legions were almost out, the Ultramarine legion saved Dorne and his legion when Perturabo was about to make them extinct

Chaos forces wouldn't even get near the Custodes and Sisters of Silence. Ultramarines were the best at flexibility and the best in logistics, not to mention Ultramar was an Empire in itself. If Ultramar itself, the 1st Legion, and Wolves had been there, Chaos was already screwed from the beginning. Sure, the loyalists will still take a lot of casualties, but Chaos would lose the battle of time and attrition.

The lion wasn’t the Emperor’s “first born son”. That was just a number as all of the Primarchs were grown at the exact same time.
That isn't what the lore says. He was the Emperor's first creation in the primarch project. He was the first made and the testbed in which all of the others would follow. That is why he is the second best at most everything. The 1st legion had the same disposition.
