    In my childhood, I had a few electronic keyboards that were handed down from family and friends, but this one was by far my favorite. My mom gave me this one after she got a new one and I cherished it and played it until it practically fell apart. I loved all the things I could do with it and spent hours pushing buttons and making slight changes to make the perfect sound. I had a class project and wanted to look it up, but didn't know exactly what model to look for except I knew it was a Casio. When I found a picture of this one, I knew it was the keyboard from my childhood so I had to find audio to prove it was the same one. I saw this video and had to watch. This is exactly what I remember and I will most definitely be picking up one of these keyboards so I can make my childhood memories come alive. Plus I get to play on my favorite keyboard again!

    Still have mine from the early 80’s new. With the modulation buttons you can get some really nice sounds. The “ bank” selection button on mine won’t stay depressed. Many years of fun. Still fire it up from time to time an noddle on it while watching TV.

    Thanks for this video share, and that playing just makes me heart sing !
    Gotta love that Bossa Nova beat, how it's so very much like what Jean Michael Jarre
    used for Oxygene ... makes me want to go and find one of these little beauties.
    Just like the one I used to have, but was the MT-65 - ah memories ... :)
    Again, good stuff and that song at the end - nice !! :)

    Those analog sounds with that rock pentatonic scale you're playing makes this extra-nostalgic for me, because back in the 80s when I was first playing with these sorts of keyboards, that was pretty much all I could play! :)

    Cool demo, thanks! I had an MT-100 as a kid and played many years on it til its sad demise in my late 20's...still miss it and everything on the 68 sounds identical to my 100...especially the drums which are my favorite part :0)

    Very cool! I snagged one of these for $4.00 at local thrift store. I'm having a blast with it and plan to record on my old Tascam 4 track cassette machine. Thanks for posting ! Now I'm inspired to make some music with it.

    I'm restoring one that I had forty years ago and can't find information on the polarity for the 7.5V AC input. Would you mind sharing if the polarity of your adapter (shown around 0:25 into your video) is center positive, or center negative? Thanks!

    • @MarkyShaw
      @MarkyShaw  2 года назад +1

      Sure thing! This is center negative. As a matter of fact, you can search on Amazon for Casio MT-68 adapter to find the exact 7.5V adapter that is compatible with a number of Keyboards from that era. Or feel free to check this affiliate link if you're interested! amzn.to/3JYKrpS

    • @MarkyShaw

      Hi there! Sure thing, mine did not come with the original! But believe it or not, I'm using a Sharp EA-12E power supply which you can find compatible ones on Amazon for about $10-16. Haha, it is normally used for a Calculator. But I have two of these MT-68 keyboards and this power supply works great for them both! 2.5W at 6 Volts. Hope this helps!!

    Nice video!
    I have got one as well.
    It seems like the vibrato can’t be recorded through the headphone jack nor the line out. That’s a shame because you can hear it quite clearly through the speaker.
    Nevertheless you gained a subscriber!
    Greetings from Germany!

    I absolutely love the MT Series, I have the Casio Mt 55, its awesome but this seems really cool. I like the sound a lot, and I'm glad you can find them for cheap nowadays.
    I'm definitely going to try making some cool music with the Casio Mt 55, it sounds more pulse wavy compared to this one.

    can the LINE OUT cable be plugged on your PC ?

    • @MarkyShaw
      @MarkyShaw  6 лет назад +2

      Hello there! Why yes indeed it can. It uses a standard phono output. I use a Phono Cable with a Phono to 1/4" Adapter that plugs right in to a USB Audio Interface :-) Hope that helps my friend! It's a sweet keyboard.

    • @MarkyShaw
      @MarkyShaw  6 лет назад +2

      Oh man! That's a tough decision to make. Both of those are rad keyboards. If it was me, I'd probably get the 400V because of those sweet filter controls. Then save up and get the MT-100 too ;-) Hehe.

    Just picked one of these up for $8 at my local Goodwill! It came with an old 9v power supply? Should I try to find a 7.5v one instead or will it work fine without burning anything up?

      you're gonna have to get a 7.5 volt one because of the jack fit.

    Hi, I'm very inexperienced at using keyboards. I was wondering, is there was a way to connect this to my computer to record in a DAW?

    • @MarkyShaw
      @MarkyShaw  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Thomas! No worries my friend! Indeed it's fairly easy to record! Luckily this keyboard has a "line out" jack that you can plug directly in to a recording interface of sorts. It uses a regular phono plug, the same ones used on RCA plugs, but just one cable is all that is needed. I had to use a phono to 1/4" adapter as well so that it would plug in to my recording interface, but once I did that, I was golden. Hope this helps man.
