I was depressed for pretty much the most part of my teenage/young adult life, proper depressed, not the usual down most people experience around that age. It's only now I'm really getting to the end of the tunnel. A year ago it was really terrible, so far that I got counseling and (very small amount of) meds. Then I discovered this amazing cover (already knew the original by heart). I don't want to overstate anything, but it really gave me a push in the right direction, it's so somber and beautiful and, what I love about this version, it's also really hopeful. That helped me a lot and I keep coming back to this song, as it really 'heals'. Just wanted to let you know your an amazing musician and you made something completely unique and touching out of an already amazing song.

Classic man. I remember listening to this song and album when it came out in ‘99... so many late nights watching MTV and VH1, skateboarding outside, and hanging with friends.

1 year ago I was admitted to the hospital after a suicidal episode..
I started showing symptoms of real depression at 14 (more than normal for that age) and I self harmed on and off for roughly 7-8 years.. then last year I had a psychotic break and nearly killed myself. I got help and learned to love my inner child. My family and my music really pushed me back in the right direction. That’s what brought me here.. I used to listen to this channel and just let it shuffle as I felt asleep back in middle school.

I think the noticeable pitch correction in this song kind of fits, considering the lyrics, it kind of shows how the person writing the "suicide note" is trying to hide the state of his mental health, just as Ofi is trying to hide the imperfections in his voice
I disagree. I think a suicide note is when you're most honest with your emotions. It's the bare you. I wish he hadn't used the auto tune but I can still feel the emotion in the way the guitar is played.

This has been my favorite song by Blink. 'Cause I can relate to it, but now that I've moved along in life a bit, I don't listen to it as much. But, this is honestly beautiful, and I'm going to put this on my iPod. and I shall start listening to it again.
I'm not against using pitch correction, but you should use more subtle settings so that it's not noticeable. Good cover though.

This song was such a huge part of my upbringing and hard times growing up. Because of that I am a tough judge on any cover of it. Absolutely beautiful, just like all the others. I may or may not have had a year run down my cheek. Thank you.

This is the best Acoustic cover of this song, no contest. You nailed the inflection in your vocals perfectly imo, and the reduced tempo and smoothed out pacing matches up really well with the acoustic guitar.

the beauty of this song is that it isn't even about death. it's about being lonely and accepting, acknowledging that you are lonely (even if the loneliness is time being) and being ok with it :)
The song was written mostly by mark hoppus, the bassist. It was inspired by his loneliness and a teen suicide he read about in a magazine that had a really profound impact on him. It’s definitely about suicide and death, but I see your point. Also, I know this is probably 7 years too late. Worst case scenario, I brought you back to this song.

People saying this is better than blink: if they never wrote the song he wouldn't have covered it, blink are the masterminds behind this beautiful song, not this guy. Good cover, not better than the original. Also, auto tune is used on 99% of singers recording vocals for a song, you wouldn't listen to a song with an out of tune guitar playing through out, just because he PITCH CORRECTED parts of the song does not mean he can't sing.
Tuning your guitar is a little different than pitch correcting.

There is a noticeable amount of pitch correction on the vocals but It's just how you get that famous "emo" vocal sound. Doesn't mean he isn't an amazing singer, it's just a part of the sound. Definitely different to tuning a guitar though, that might be compared to vocal warmups not pitch correcting.
