You are *not* stupid. You are young, inexperienced, and learning about life as a (chronological) adult in your early years of discovery. Let me promise you this. Every single young person goes through this, even when they look as if they have it all figured out. People older than you have made all these mistakes or something akin to them. Please, be kind to yourself. Please, stop saying you are stupid when you are merely young and inexperienced and still in the *early stages of adult learning* like all of us who live to see 21 and beyond. Wishing you many, many decades more of learning so that you never stop being curious and adventurous in spirit. p.s. You are one experience ahead of me, despite being old enough to be your mother. I have *never* been in a school pick up line! lol I've heard it can be quite cut throat in some places! lol
omg thank you so much for the kind words. It’s easy to put oneself down. I usually do it when Im feeling silly but the things that one tells oneself are important and I shouldn’t self critique so much! (Also I got lucky, when I was in HS my school was rather small and the pickup line was kinda rough but it was NOWHERE near as annoyingly long as this one lol)
We know you're not stupid, but I understand it's just a word we use at the moment of frustration because you, my dear, are very talented. You probably added your own piano 🎹 playing in this video, too. ❤✌🏼🙏🏼
That rant was EPIC and I totally agree. I haven't laughed so hard at a video maybe ever. You feel like a kindred spirit. 💛 Totally love this edit btw with the sound effects and Sponge Bob cut-ins. Bravo.
Hey Emma, you are one self-sufficient young lady. I too live in a van, a 2017 Toyota Sienna van. I pull a 4 x 8 cargo trailer, which allows me to put most of my belongings in the trailer, leaving much room in the van for my huge bed, and some drawers, a sink with hot and cold running water, a butane cooktop, a refrigerator, a separate freezer, and a porta potty. All the comforts of home! But enough about me. You and I have nothing in common other than living in a van, you're 24, I'm 72 as of September 5th, 2024, but watching your videos has taught this 72 year old man a few things. The zest for life and the search for adventure fades a little as we age. I feel if I keep watching your videos , I may just rekindle my passion for adventure. I love how you greet calamity with the same youthful joy as you greet a pleasant hike in an alpine forest. I have a full head of hair but I love your bald head, and I love how you embrace your baldness. One other thing I have learned from you sister, is how you mount your patches all over your van interior! I'm now going to start collecting patches and mount them as you have. I have just one cautionary note. I notice how you love the water. Please be careful and only try to submerge your head in fast running water, a river, or a quick moving stream. Never submerge in still water, and certainly never in any water that has blue-green algae. Even calm and still lake water can harbor the brain eating amoeba. The amoeba lives in the muddy bottom of still and unmoving water. When a person walks out into still water dragging their feet through the muddy bottom, they stir up the amoeba colonies which then enter the sores on the skin of the person entering the water, and if this person dunks their head, the amoeba enters the nose, mouth, and ears and travels to the brain, where they begin to consume the human brain, death can ensue in as little as 72 hours. If you have any skin abrasion, or a few blisters, I'd stay out of the water till all your skin has healed. Some people who frequent hot springs have encountered the brain eating amoeba by submerging their head in the hot springs, and some people have died from this brain eating amoeba. Stay young at heart as you travel down the road, and know that you young people have become the 'teacher' and we old folks have become your 'students' as we learn from you and try to recapture our youth and our younger passions. Travel on, and travel safely, my young Jedi Knight! Ron Gilbert (Hawkeye)
If you ever decide to visit again, Emma the Smokey Mountain Parkway through Weirsville and Cosby Tennesse has some beautiful scenic views. Including the Blue Ridge parkway which takes you through the tunnel into the Carolina with some of the most scenic vistas ever.-Happy Trails😀
I live near that area. There are many beautiful trails and it is really pretty safe. Cades Cove is nice. Lots of commercial stuff around but the national park is so large no chance of losing the nature. Growth is going away from the park toward Sevierville.
Bryson City NC is so much more peaceful than PF or Gatlinburg and its still in the Smokies. I am a nomad, and every time i have to go to places like this, I get an overload with irritation and anxiety. I feel ya Emma!
😂Emma, I was just about to say how I liked that shot posed of you on Great Smoky Mountains National Park sign 🤣🤣when shot💨1:11 Welcome back 💨. As an ancient truly OG outdoors guy, I can also add that sometimes "I am not alone" can be a comforting thought- other times, it can be terrifying... all depending on where you are when you say it!
The audio effects are back 😂 I understand your frustration and rant against the ugly commercialisation surrounding an area of protected natural beauty.
Until 10 years ago Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountains was my family’s vacation destination. Then it became a nightmare of tourists. Now Bucees is different. It began in Texas as a stop for travelers and you will see one frequently when driving through Texas. It never closes, has cleanest bathrooms and barbecue to die for. Texas loves Bucees. I’m old enough to be your grandma and your channel was suggested to me last week. I have a granddaughter who is 23 and you remind me of her. I enjoy your videos and will continue to watch. I live in San Antonio but for couple of years lived in Plattsburgh NY.
ah, sweet summer child.... a fascinating video based on so many misunderstanding. Like one, thinking Tennessee is "deep South". It isn't. Then, being amazed that a Buccees is huge- apparently not knowing that 18 wheelers / truck drivers who carry every item to every store, use a nationwide network of hubs like that, where they can shower, get anything they need from food to clothing and of course fuel and safe places to sleep... kind if like visiting an airport and saying Dang! Why are there so many airplanes and why is this placed so huge- here it is crazy! But seriously, most people who are into outdoors life, camping, hiking and so on, will say that the spring through mid Autumn months are the ones to travel the Great Smoky trails. Always good to have a plan before starting out in places like that, especially places one is not familiar with. Research can save a life. And dear Emma, you are not stupid- you are young, and in a whole new big world... Oh, and closed roads in huge land areas in the southeast are usually due to road collapses, trees down or other things; the flesh eating axe murderers, thirty foot bears, pythons and werewolves, never have signs announcing their proximity.
Nor do the feral humans living in them thar hills. Seriously, the Smokies are great if crowded. Appalachian culture is actually fascinating if you can get past the touristy nonsense.
Once, after a 5 day backpacking trip in the Gila Wilderness in Arizona, I got home and looked around in horror at my home town of Phoenix. It was as if my mind had been cleansed in nature and then thrown in the trash when I got home-ugly billboards, concrete, traffic, noise and all the rest. I wondered how I could live here.
I thought tennessee was beautiful when driving their's so much beautiful greenery they get a lot of rain like oregon and washington I like the way the women talk there y'all
I had the same reaction at my first Buceez-but I stopped at 1:30 in the afternoon. NEVER again will I stop during the day, absolute chaos. Your videos are the best! Keep listening to your gut.
I wish I had been subscribed to you when you were in Tennessee. I live in Virginia. I would loved for you to have stopped by my way. You were in the biggest tourist town in the smokey mountains. Not where you would want to be to just enjoy the countryside sleeping in your van. I hope you come back again someday and enjoy Tennessee and Virginia in it`s peaceful beautiful glory that it is. Just stay out of cities and tourist towns.

I like your videos. I've read that Smokey is the most visited NP. Must be because like 65% of US poulation lives East of Mississipi river. I live on East coast but prefer the West. I plan to sell my east coast house this year and move to a townhouse I have in Southern AZ. From there I can roadtrip/van camp much more than I get to do now. Instead of constantly driving 3 to 4 days to reach CO or UT I'll already be in AZ. The heat will motivate me to go vandwelling in cooler places all summer! Ema and other tubers keep me motivated.
OMG. The ending 😂 perfect. This vid .. you do a nice job of capturing over - commerciallism. Large franchises taking over the scenary. If small private businesses thrived i bet they would' ve blended a little more organically into the scenery. Oh well.. i feel your frustration. :)

Girl you can't hit me with the La La Land music like that.... right in the feels I started crying haha! But I love your videos! I'm planning on starting to do the same thing out of a 2018 Mazda CX5 soon. I'm short 5'6 guy so I actually fit in the back of my cx5 flat if I move my seat forward a bit. Thank you for the inspo! I'm also from New York and finally just got tired of the grind at work.
Trust your gut! LOL! I'm from Tennessee. Watch out. The dreaded school pickup line. That's funny. Yes, they're a nightmare. Actually, in Alabama, parents have exchanged gun fire in the process of picking up and dropping off their kids. Nuts! Welcome to America! Don't get me started on Buc-ees! "Open 24-7 and No overnight camping." As BIG as the parking lots are, lights on all night, and they don't allow overnight camping. We need to start a protest! Lol !!!! Dude I feel your pain! It's pretty overwhelming. I don't know your travel plans but are you coming through Alabama? Would love to meet up. I am in Birmingham. Definitely not too exciting or over stimulating. Lol 😂😂😂
@@Emma-and-BusBus bummer! I know that a lot of RUclipsrs get trolls and stalkers. I am not that! I've met a few of my RUclips favorites. One I actually went to go visit in Kentucky and another when he was passing through- we met at the cracker barrel. 😂 I really would like to have met you and told you about some good places to go hike. I've been to every trail in the state!
I hate Bucees so much. Every one I've ever seen has been just surrounded by trash. Like all these people go there and buy whatever garbage they buy, then throw it out their windows on the highway as soon as they leave. And we don't need billboards every 20 feet for 100 miles around your stupid gas station. Ugh! I hate them! This video describes perfectly what annoys me about tourist locations like this. Just ruining what people come there to see by trying to make money on everything. America sucks sometimes.
Dude... glad that you followed the bad vibes about cutting short on The Smokey Mountain Park. The universe was your messenger of a possible bad omen. I kept seeing visions of you running from hungry bears. Not really but it would make for a more dramatic vid. Buc-ees and Cracker Barrel was your best and safest choice. 🦫 Dollywood is Dolly Parton's theme park. I actually thought your little rant was legit and you looked kinda cute doing it. I bet you felt better afterwards. Keep rollin on to your next adventure Misty Mountain Traveller.
Lol I didn’t listen to my gut and I went anyway! Luckily the road closure forced me to back off. Dollywood looked crazy! I passed by the entrance and still couldn’t figure out what the hell it was haha
I did some more research and you’re right! My bad. There seems to be some argument about the phrase when it comes to TN and I guess it depends on who you talk to :)
the stores you hate are there because people needs supplies to go to the mountains. Emma wants Dunkin Donuts and planet fitness' where she can wash her dishes in the bathroom sinks {she actually does this}. I'd block this channel but these woke kids are way too funny. I guess the road was closed because of snow. Southern snow is slicker than normal snow.
It was closed for snow! The elevation change makes weather a lil less predictable in the mountains I guess
Lol !!!! Dude I feel your pain! It's pretty overwhelming.
I don't know your travel plans but are you coming through Alabama? Would love to meet up. I am in Birmingham. Definitely not too exciting or over stimulating. Lol 😂😂😂
Ugh god it was GROSS
And I just passed through there! Tx for the offer though ❤
We're in western North Carolina. If you need anything hit me up!
Thanks for the goodtime again 😂
ty for watching! ❤
Dude... glad that you followed the bad vibes about cutting short on The Smokey Mountain Park.
I passed by the entrance and still couldn’t figure out what the hell it was haha
good work, come to Kentucky just not the big citys
I think you could say the whole state of tennessee is impressively obnoxious.
always trust your gut 😶🌫
Hi how you doing hope you're doing well do you ever been in LA
I have! Driving there and paying for gas in that area was so traumatic that I never went back haha XD mad respect to people who can handle it
@@Emma-and-BusBus I live in Long Beach I live in a van to but I'm not a RUclipsr and I like your videos
I hate all that tourism destruction as well. It takes the beauty and destroys a place
We’re getting a huge gas station in ky as well :/
becareful tenessee is known for the bell witch of tennessee
just be careful true story
addams tennessee tennessee is no place to be
Does your jackery? Charge from your cigarette lighter socket?
It can! ❤
Bucees makes me throw up in my mouth. Been there once. Good ole American over consumption. Sick.
NEVER AGAIN haha
😂😂😂 You are in the red neck country! 😂😂😂 Enjoy your vlog very much!!!😆😆😆
YEE YEE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 haha ty for watching ❤
Smart move wearing the dude hat. Appearing male makes you much safer on the road.
Im not trying to appear one way or another for my safety, it’s just cold outside and I like that hat. The hat is not specifically gendered ❤️❤️❤️🧢🧢🧢🤘🤘
You couldn't pay me to visit a red state.
c'mon raven don't forget al gore was from tennessee
Tennessee is not the deep south
I did some more research and you’re right! My bad. There seems to be some argument about the phrase when it comes to TN and I guess it depends on who you talk to :)
girrly if u started the video with that intro im sure it would've been fine lolol
I never know how to start my videos haha thank you for the kind input ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
girl?
✨🧁🛼🧘♀️🩷 yes 🎀🍭🌸🪽🦄👑
Smart?
the stores you hate are there because people needs supplies to go to the mountains. Emma wants Dunkin Donuts and planet fitness' where she can wash her dishes in the bathroom sinks {she actually does this}. I'd block this channel but these woke kids are way too funny. State tuned for Emma and bus bus travel Gaza.
