for someone that had lost a mother in the second lockdown, the revelations that have come out this week have truly been shocking and and sickening , the attitude with the MP and PM is beyond despicable. This inquiry ultimately will do nothing for the victims that have died families and people recovering from long covid of the virus. Just lessons learnt for the government , which is rotten to the core.

My aunt, at age 84, went into hospital with a stomach ulcer. Up to lockdown, she and my uncle had been active and staying healthy apart from osteoarthritis which was being treated. My uncle wasn't allowed in to see my aunt in hospital except once to take her some grapes as she wasn't eating. She was sent home after she had recovered. A day nurse visited. She then was taken back into hospital as fell ill again. She had caught COVID. She recovered almost fully and was ready and packed to go home. Then the doctors said they wanted to do more tests. By the Monday my sister and uncle received a call to say my aunt was dying. We all went in to say our goodbyes but she was so heavily sedated ????? My uncle said it was the same hospital ward as before in Kings College Camberwell. It was the COVID ward.????? After 60 years without a night apart my uncle passed away six months later as he was so heart broken. These are people's families and they were allowed to die to free up pension payments and reduce the population which now sees illegal immigrants coming here and causing a new outbreak of tuberculosis and other pandemics we haven't had for years 😠

It is galling to hear the revelations about how care home residents and the elderly (and by extension, care staff) were considered to be worthless. At the start of lockdown i was assigned to a temporary team tasked with trying to get advice and support to care homes. Many of them were very worried, or were getting sick. Residents were getting sick and dying without their families around them. Meanwhile, all this politicising was happening, and judgements were being made about the lack of value of certain people's lives. Hearing about how Johnson wanted the eldery to accept their fate, and how Matt Hancock wanted to take decision making about prioritising patients away from clinicians, and now this - makes my blood boil. Add to that all the valuable contracts dished out like sweets to ministers' mates - well....
This is mothing short of criminal in my opinion.

In my experience the care home situation in Britain is often privatised. People who work there only get £64 a week if they are off sick and are not paid a salary if they are ill so people would rather work while sick than sacrifice their salaries for sick pay they can't pay the bills with. Also many people work in a number of different care homes, so it's hard to control the virus situation if it gets out if control. It's the whole setup that sucks.

Thatcher outsourced residential and nursing home care to the private sector being their chums and donors. It was a license to print money for a long time, a person on “dragons den” made his first millions from residential care and then moved on.

a criminal case should be produced for misconduct in a public office, of which the definition is "serious wilful abuse or neglect of the power or responsibilities of the public office held"
with over 200,000 dead from covid either directly or indirectly, that speaks for itself with regards to the ability of these politicians to hold such an office.
if the testimonies that have been given don't show what a shamble these politicians were as they made discissions that cause untold deaths and harm to this country
and claim that they acted responsible in that office, then clearly they have no idea what responsibility actually means, let alone be able to carry out a responsible role in the first place.
