Well I never did crawl and I never did toe that line No man is a master to me I ain't that kind I just put on my traveling shoes If you wanna win you just can't lose the time Or stay behind Well I was born to run To get ahead of the rest And all that I wanted was to be the best Just to feel free and be someone I was born to be fast I was born to run Well I take the chances sometimes I've made mistakes But you don't get nothing unless you take the breaks Living as dangerous as dynamite Sure makes you feel nervous but it makes you feel alright Makes you feel alright Well I was born to run To get ahead of the rest And all that I wanted was to be the best Just to feel free and be someone I was born to be fast I was born to run Nobody's gonna make me do things their way By the time you figure it out it's yesterday Well it comes to he who waits I'm told But I don't need it when I'm old and gray Yea I want it today Well I was born to run To get ahead of the rest And all that I wanted was to be the best Just to feel free and be someone I was born to be fast I was born to run
I'm partial to the Emmylou Harris version, because I grew up with it, but this gal does a fine job of remaking the song without ruining it. Good work Hagan.
This is the superb new music video from the great Clíona Hagan, and she performs it beautifully. It's a wonderful song, with excellent lyrics, and she sings an amazing version. The backing music is top class also. Clíona Hagan comes from County Tyrone, and has a fantastic voice. She is one of Ireland's most talented Country 'n' Irish artists. Many thanks to Cliona Hagan for uploading this magnificent video. It's beautifully made, really suits the music, and is an excellent production. Enjoy this fabulous song ! Shared on Google+
I think there's a real potential for Country And Irish crossing over into mainstream American country. If you turn on mainstream country radio in America right now, it's a little bit off the rails, as happens from time to time over here; a lot of the music is trying to be something else and is frequently out of touch with the decades-old country legacy. This woman's music sounds more country than most of what you'd hear on mainstream American country radio these days. I think there's a real latent hunger over here for this kind of sound among people who truly value country music and know what the best of it has always been about. I think the right Country And Irish artist could end up jumping the firebreak and catching on in America. Maybe this woman could be such an artist. I look forward to finding out.

"I think there's a real potential for Country And Irish crossing over into mainstream American country." xD Where dya think American country music came from?
Tubebrerry, indeed there is potential. Lisa McHugh, for instance, has appeared on the Opry a number of times, and Nathan Carter had a successful North American tour. And I often urge a female friend of mine in Scotland who plays the violin for a living to drop that and take up an entirely different instrument--the fiddle--and get gigs in Branson or Nashville as the "Scottie Hottie." That said, the market here is glutted--Americans like Robert Mizzell go over there for a career--and there would be a bit of culture clash. In addition, even allowing for fans discontented by the latest "New Country" (the term gets recycled periodically), a lot of the UK/Irish Country material is simply covers of older American tunes. "Born to Run" goes back to the '80s. And THAT said, such would appeal to people like you and me, and the novelty aspect would give a few British and Irish artists a start. I'd love to see the CMAs include them. PS: On my Twitter feed, I'll occasionally do a "TRANS-ATLANTIC COUNTRY SHOWDOWN!" where I pit Western Hemisphere and Australian Country acts against those from elsewhere (including British Isles). Here is link I just put up to one featuring Hagan's version of "Born to Run" up against Emmylou Harris' from 1981: twitter.com/LeeTggra/status/1319574016424878081

wow, Miss Hagan, this is brill. your amazing this in no way is absolutely shite. Honestly nothing but perfection, I think the best solution to being cheated on is to cheat on him too. 10/10 effort, you tried your best. #wereallgonnadiesomeday #Dalkiethcomeback #DHSCELEB

Well I never did crawl and I never did toe that line
No man is a master to me I ain't that kind
I just put on my traveling shoes
If you wanna win you just can't lose the time
Or stay behind
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Well I take the chances sometimes I've made mistakes
But you don't get nothing unless you take the breaks
Living as dangerous as dynamite
Sure makes you feel nervous but it makes you feel alright
Makes you feel alright
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Nobody's gonna make me do things their way
By the time you figure it out it's yesterday
Well it comes to he who waits I'm told
But I don't need it when I'm old and gray
Yea I want it today
Well I was born to run
To get ahead of the rest
And all that I wanted was to be the best
Just to feel free and be someone
I was born to be fast I was born to run
Beautiful thanks for sharing ❤️❤️❤️

Where dya think American country music came from?
@@smeghead666 Irish folk music, which was then processed, refined, improved, and exported back to Ireland.
You're welcome.
