@jl-sm6cg The road was concrete (horribly potholed, never kept a patch, heaved in our freeze/thaw cycle concrete). The engineers chose asphalt for its flexibility in winter. Thanks for asking.
Actually the contractor pays for any errors. The MDOT inspector confirms what was installed meets the contract design and specifications of the project. If not, than it has to be redone.
The white line denotes bike lane. Bikes would navigate the roundabout accordingly, using the full lane with the flow of traffic. We have some race teams that train in Grand Traverse and Leelanau County. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
0:07 I went through this intersection for the final time before this piece of art comes.
They placed the asphalt over compacted soil and not over a bed of compacted gravel?
It's compacted road gravel in our area due to soil sub-grade type.
cool!

And of course, they use asphalt, pretty much guaranteeing it'll have to be fixed more of ten that necessary. That's MDOT for you.

@swilleh_ how about actual concrete for a change, hmmmm?

Those lines in the sky are not clouds and they are not condensation.
Great! Nice to see our taxpayer dollars being wasted on incorrect sidewalks.

I think that's a channel for water, if I'm not mistaken.
